When it becomes apparent the horses that love to sit at the back and swoop late can't make ground, then start to look at horses who love to lead or sit on pace. This is most apparent when it's wet.
It's why I knew High Bridge couldn't win. And why I was so pissed at The Lord Mayor.
@mariner4life ah ok, I don't watch alot of races, just look on form, history etc...and watch the betting fluctuations leading into a race, particularly to grab the odd long shot.
Usually do ok, but last few weeks been rubbish.

Race 3 number 5. Only backing this as we purchased the half sister at yearling sales on Friday.
Race 4 number 14
Race 7 number 6 this horse seems to perform well for Jasmine.
@Hooroo last few weeks she seems to have been riding more horses with longer odds?

I might put on a place multi. Somehow got the quaddie at Melton last night so I've got $100 to throw around.

I mentioned that in my post too. Like @mariner4life said, the wetter conditions promoted that bias even more but whenever rail is out in that position at caulfield you will get an on pace bias (meaning you need to be leading or close to it) and then soft track just makes it so much harder to run on. Certainly werent many winners from the back.

Thinking Chiefs and over 53.5 points but not the biggest NFL fan. Just keen for a small investment if its gonna be on everywhere

Solomon and Ricky Baker racing at Riccarton this weekend
Race 4 is Sols with Jasmine aboard and Race 5 is Ricky and for some extraordinary reason which I am going to find out, he has put that bloody Jason Laking back on when Jasmine doesn't have a ride in the race. Madness.
So back Sols and write off Ricky in coming in the first 10 horses home

Cheers. We had Need You Now in the non-tote race prior to the meeting and she won too so I got a nice bump to the account.

They didn't take tote (regular) betting, as they only got 4 nominations so there was only fixed odds on the race. She paid about $2 on the fixed odds.
