What a weird time to be an AB fan.

In the past coaches would have made wholesale changes after a historic home loss to Argentina ( not forgetting a historic series loss to Ireland prior to that )

They can’t ALL have dodgy photos of him surely ?

Joe Schmidt looks like he backs that Backline being attack/back coach he would have had a big say in selections.

Sotutu, RTS, Vaii and Fakatava must be wondering what the fucking point is at this stage.

@Chris Apart from Taylor, I don't think the players are the problem.

Game plan, and how it is communicated to the players (lack of clear messaging), and defence seem to be the main issues IMO. That's on the coaches, particularly Foster and Mcleod.

yes, thoeretically you're right...but its still pretty worrying that these guys havent taken it on themselves to sort it out on the field if what the coaches are telling them isn;t working again...and again

was it in the foster thread someone posted that he had pretty much said theyre not doing what hes telling them

@Chris Yep, and he's had very little time, yet, to work with them, so that makes it kind of understandable that they keep the same backs in the line-up.

We are obviously looking to build parts of our game and this week is another chance to do that," said All Blacks head coach Ian Foster. "This year's Rugby Championship is extremely tight and that makes this weekend's test an exciting opportunity.

Yeah, really exciting. In the context of the ABs, that word now means throwing objects at the tv and swearing a lot. I don't want it to be that kind of exciting.

@Stargazer or exciting wondering what level of rugby we will see this week....

The embarrassing rugby from the 1st half of test 3 v Ireland, the brainless from the 2nd half last week, the good stuff from Ireland 1 or Ellis Park, or will we find a new kind of exciting....

it wold honestly be one thing if he'd come out and said "we're doing something different...but a big change is going to mean some pain"

but he seems to think we can thrash everyone every week...and is surprised when we dont...but then he tries the same thing again thinking it will work this time...and it doesnt and hes surprised....but he tries it again because surely he cant be wrong and it must eventually work

He’s very much enjoying getting fucked over

"It's important we embrace those moments," he says of their poor finish in Christchurch.

No it is not, it is imprtant you find out what went wrong and change it. But for him it is more of the same, just betterer

Foster says his message to the public is that they've been pretty ruthless and hard on themselves behind the scenes.
"We believe in things we're working on now. Things were going good but didn't translate to the result we wanted," he says.

Ruthless, yeah right. Dropping Taylor wan’t ruthless, after that performance it was a bare minimum. Ruthless is dropping Capt Cane, ruthless is chucking Havili, ruthless is ditching your underperforming assisstants last year.

I am glad they are owning the training field and team meetings tho, well done 🙄

Have just had a gander at the weather forecast for Hamilton on Saturday night. Looks like a roughly 90% chance of rain at kickoff, and a 70-80% chance of it sticking around throughout the game. Tactical play, which Aaron Smith and Richie Mo'unga are talking about now, is going to be more important than last week.
