Foster said they've been working on JB to 12 in behind the scenes 🤣

Oh Foster you really are a muppet.

Whats wrong with saying they been working a while? Genuine question.

Whoops sorry didn't see that Crucial had already asked.

Do you believe its true? If Havili was cleared to play would JB have started at 12? Foster has never even moved JB to 12 during a match let alone started him there

I wonder whose idea it was to give JB time at 12 for the Canes, if Foster was behind that then fair play. However I suspect Jordie himself much like RI has wanted to return to his early career position.

@canefan jordie only mentioned his canes exp at 12 this season in the aftermatch interview, and that he'd been thinking about it. Nothing about purposeful prep or coaching

Jordie's emergence at 12 is the biggest positive for the ABs long term.
We have been searching for a strong player in this position for years.

Foster has been downplaying Jordie at 12 all year.

He was hardly very supportive of Jordie to 12 for the Canes.

This week when asked if he saw Jordie as a 12 or a 15 who can play 12 he said the latter.

You’re reading too much into a comment in your glee of having Jordie doing well.
It worked tonight and I hope it continues. He’s a much better option than Havili I will admit but he’s no “classic “ 12
Tonight was a game that was made for him to get stuck into and he was very good in getting going and involved.
I hope he can do as well against the sides ranked higher than 9th and I don’t mean that in a snide way, I do hope he can.

If I said the sky was blue you would argue its green. Sure the forwards showed up and set a better platform. But if you can't concede that the midfield looked much better with JB there we are just watching a different game

Jordie’s only keeping the seat warm until Fozzie and co realise that Ardie is the answer at 2nd 5.

This might have been just the game for JB and maybe other games against top midfielders would show some flaws but given his fans have been on about this for years I think they should have their "moment in the sun" (which perfectly suits a description of Wellington weather).
12 looks to suit him better than 15 IMHO. He did all the basics well. Even used his long arms in the tackle well a la SBW.
So the next question is does BB sew up 15? He played well today (but there is competition even from his own Blues.)

Geez fellas why is the default to get all provincial? We’ve got Canes fans talking up Jordie like he’s some sort of midfield saviour. We’ve got Blues fans saying the “loose forwards” were all that and a bag of chips. There’s Chiefs fans not willing to call out the mistakes of Sami. We’ve got Highlander fans, wait are there still any of those left?

All that matters is the ABs won and the ABs 10 won the Cadbury Man of the Match.

@nostrildamus I thought we looked good with BB at fullback. I love him there. Much like Jordan, Reiko they look so great in space. So with JB smashing it up at 2nd and not having to create ( and make mistakes) the balance was better. Also JB punt at 2nd five makes exits so much better.

Gotta say when they asked(?) Jordie to crash and bash from 15 it didn't look super effective but from 12 his straight running has been ever so welcome. And that boot has been great.

Even his long punts have been better in this match.

                              He has been superb.

                              Undroppable now.

                              The bulk tells at 12.

He can crash and bash , and if you shovel him some slop he can boot it 60 yards.

                              Loves an offload too.

Putting Havili back in would be a sackable offence.

What I liked was that he took a moment and then chose good options. Couple of his wide cutout passes were pearlers

As I saw it: Everyone's onside from the charge down, Samu gets rid of it before Samisoni puts him in touch. Jordan knocks it backwards and Folau gathers and momentum takes him onto the line.

Looked to us as if he stopped just short and rolled ball last couple of inches.

                                Deserved on run of play.

The fact Foster bluntly said about three weeks ago that he saw Barrett as a fullback when questioned on Jordie moving into 12 suggests that he’s never really seen him as a midfielder. I call bullshit on the fact he’s had any sort of plan moving Jordie to 12, it’s more sheer luck for us fans that the two players he preferred in that position got injured and it forced his hand.

That was, by some margin, the best second five-eighth performance in Black for years.

Just one Rennie special which had Rieko confused, but luckily Petaia dropped it when faced with open spaces.
