Papalii is not going to make it. He is consistently anonymous at this level. Pity.

Same with Fakatava, Vaai, Goodhue, Faingaanuku and Sotutu. Can them all.

Edit: something which would be interesting would be to see the progression of Cane at 24, looks like he debuted at 20 so I guess he was just into getting regular starts.

Not sure why Goodhue is on list. He had made it - proved very good, injury has intervened.

I never thought a backline with Blair in it would do anything but get run over.

Apparently Ioane thought the boomerang advance was disrespectful to the haka. If this is true, he's a fucking tool. They don't have to stand there like dummies, and it's great that they responded, and will do so again this weekend

I think the Ioanes are very talented but there’s also plenty of evidence that they’re both massive dickwads as well.

The Haka is very indulgent, teams can do whatever the fuck they want in response if you ask me.

@No-Quarter Ben Cohen vs Ben Blair pretty much what the end result came down to.

IIRC that was the tour Woodenhead had got the media to talk about dummy runners every chance.

                      And Blair.

Looking at that, BB will likely go to ten with Christie and Roger for another Blues combo. Good way to ease Roger in.

                        JB back to 15.

I hate that thinking, it's so fucking messy

Rugby positions are different. We continually ask guys to change thinking during a game.
                        Let's move.or 15 to 10, and our 12 to 15. I'm sure it'll be seamless

Agree. I'd take the best 12 available and play him. If thats RTS then so be it.

Plenty on here have been pushing JB for 12 for a while, so this may be the case if the's played it a bit at Super level. I've not seen it myself, but doesn't mean it hasn't happened.

I was at that match. One of my best rugby day outs ever. Was in the end stand at Twix just before it was demolished. Me and a mate in amongst a couple of rugby clubs. Excellent banter, weren't able to buy a beer for trying. Was fucking brilliant.

I remember when Danny Lee came on .. we were like this guy is seriously average, thats the game completely fucked. Then he scored.

So according to Rennie, Rieko Ioane gave some lip to Folau Faingaa about the Wallabies disrespecting the haka with the arrow formation. From what I can understand (and it seems hearsay upon hearsay), this comment was made on-field after the ABs scored the winning try.

Seriously? Here’s what’s going on here. It’s finals weekend in Australia for the actually popular codes. The Swans play the Cats and the Rabbitohs play the Panthers. The ARU needs eyeballs on their code and, by implication, their advertisers. So one of the spin doctors sends Rennie out to fan a confected controversy over a throwaway comment by one player to another in the heat of a game.

This happens constantly in Australia with rugby union. The hacks, desperate for column inches, are complicit with these five-minute manufactured controversies and lame attempts to fan outrage. And of course the rest of the media, including NZ’s own tumbleweed newsrooms, buy it.

                              It really is pathetic.

Perhaps, but as you stated: it is finals weekend for popular codes.

What else is rugby to do in order to stay in the media? Fan the flames of outrage - because we didn't win. And even if we did: Swain is getting cited.

I have no doubt that every Aussie rugby fan would love the luxury of a single shithouse NRL team and a bunch of other sports that barely appear on the radar, but that's not the reality.

On the plus side for AB fans: you've temporarily stopped talking about firing Foster into the sun.

Sounds like Reiko Ioane is gearing up nicely for when Coles retires.

To hell with the doom and gloomers, I fucking love that backline, have wanted to see it for ages. Smith's lightning pass to set them away, Mo'unga's vision on attack who is finding his feet at this level, Jordie a big bopper at 12 who will hit hard on defense, bend the line and has the bonus of a massive boot, Rieko the most lethal player on the planet right now, the closest thing we've had to Cullen on the right wing, world POTY at the back with a license to roam and inject himself in his usual opportunistic way, and an absolute powerhouse on the left wing that is making a habit of knocking those who try to tackle him the fuck out.

If they click they will be fucking unstoppable.

Smith's lightning pass to set them away ( he’s old and past it ), Mo'unga's vision on attack ( still can’t boss a tight game ) who is finding his feet at this level, Jordie a big bopper at 12 ( has NEVER played there at this level ) who will hit hard on defense, bend the line and has the bonus of a massive boot, Rieko the most lethal player on the planet right now ( but isn’t a centres arsehole ), the closest thing we've had to Cullen on the right wing ( ummmm what ? ) , world POTY at the back with a license to roam and inject himself in his usual opportunistic way ( hasn’t started at FB in ages and is also past it ), and an absolute powerhouse on the left wing ( that is not the attacking force Jonah was and a much, much bigger liability in defence ) that is making a habit of knocking those who try to tackle him the fuck out.

I admire the optimism but sometimes it’s best to keep it real just in case we lose badly.
