It does seem pretty reasonable with a diverse panel and with the number on the panel there would be a wide range of players nominated, but is still somewhat a surprise that Ardie didnt even make the final 4 (some of the SM comments are hilarious though, but is full of fucktards that know less than fuck all, in fact, if they knew they knew fuck all, they'd know more than they do currently)

@Canes4life With fan votes you get even more Northern bias, if only because there'd be many more people voting from the NH. Fan voting is per definition biased and if there's more than one player from a country, that would split the votes, too, and possibly result in a player from another country winning.

Something needs to change because the uproar on social media and the comments on the World Rugby page show that even supporters of other nations were shocked the likes of Ardie weren't nominated.

World Rugby are fast losing respect from their fans and it's hurting the game IMO.

Don’t think it’s doing anything to the game tbh. If you’re relying on the right people getting the end of year awards for the good of your game, you’re in trouble. There are way more pressing issues. Like making the RWC draw 3 years out.

All teams in black that took the field in 2022 will be in the running for adidas New Zealand Team of the Year, and their respective coaches nominated for ASB New Zealand Coach of the Year.

Surely, the Black Ferns and Wayne Smith will take these awards home? The only team and coach that have actually won a big prize! Weird that the ABs and Foster are even in the running for this award. Must be an automatic nomination.

@Bovidae I can see Demant getting it as she stood out in most games, I was pretty impressed with Fitzpatrick too, but would have no probs who is picked really . Who would of thought that we would have an awrd where Woodman wasn't nominated, just shows how much improvement there has been over the year.

I'm also surprised that Whitelock is amongst the nominees for All Blacks Player of the Year. If you were picking a lock then that's Barrett. I'd also choose a few others ahead of him.
