why? France, playing at home, have fallen over the line in their last 2 games against sides we would easily be able to argue we are better than.

Maybe we'd be competitive but they look super tough to me (S Africa played super amped and still lost) and I am still getting over that near loss to Scotland. Summary: maybe the ABs would be ok but I don't think my heart is up to it.

But France still look damn good. Not as good without Dupont though. -

Even in 2015 we struggled against SA and didn't play well - just did enough.
2011 was the final... we really went into our shells after a few things didn't go our way.
2007 .... arguable about how well we played against the frogs, but we certainly went to pieces mentally.
Frankly, a lot of RWC is the draw. Look at SA 2007: Fiji Argentina England to win the thing...

It’s been a bang average year. Hopefully the ABs can ride off into the sunset to the sound of a forlorn, halfhearted, feeble Swing Low having beaten England out the gate.
Selecting needs to be much better in 2023. Year is basically summed up by Karl T and PGS.

Have Eddie’s recent selections been of any help in his “learnings”?

Will he persist with Farrell at 12 and shoe horn Tuilagi in at 13? What is going to happen at 9 and 8?The answer to all those questions is fuck knows.
