where was that accurate bowling when I was hoping for sub 26.

Last 6 wickets gone for 12 runs, 197 all out

I dont care who loses.. Aus your turn to dismiss India for sub 26 🙂

India could oblige us with 25 all out, though I doubt we'll be that lucky 🙂

If they could do that to Australia it'd be awesome

6/0 already thanks to Starc after four deliveries. If that's the game, it'll have to be Australia to set the new milestone in the final innings.

What's lost in this series is how poorly India's specialist batsmen have played.

Some excellent catching by Aus in this test - making a huge difference.

Honestly, this pitch is kind of fun. There's probably a few too many pitches like this (or close to this) in India lately, but I'd also be sad if we never had them.

                        that, and

how bad has the on-field umpiring been?

it's either going to be vindication, or disaster. The Indians showed up like they'd been on the diesel for a week, and didn't care what happeend - a lot of laissez faire batting out there. Far more diligentin the second innings.

Should be Aussie in a canter, but ya just don't know with a pitch like that. Will be a riveting 90 minutes either way.

prediction: Aus win by 5 wickets

This reminds me a bit of the game we won in Pune four years ago.

I think there are only two types of pitches we can win on in India - hard fast decks (few and far between but we saw a few in 2004), and pitches that are complete abominations.

We had an abomination in Pune and we have one here. Because NEITHER team can bat on it, it becomes a complete crapshoot and we stand as much chance as India.

I see some suggestions that the Aussies are deliberately appealing for a stumping to also get a free review for caught behind. Have only read about it, haven't seen any of the actual appeals so dunno if it's that bad. It's amusing that this is happening as soon as Smith gets back the captaincy (albeit an in an acting capacity) though.

@Cyclops they seem to be - and it's smart use of the rules. Arguably unethical, but it's elite sport.

Question is why check the edge for a stumping? It's not what the umpires are ruling on.

@Cyclops It's been happening all series, under Cummins too, not just Smith.

Smith has shown this test how much of a better tactical captain he is than Cummins - too bad he was a moron during Sandpapergate.

Ah, didn't realise, only read about it today. Will be interesting to see if anything comes of it.

I wonder if ball tracking, snicko etc were available when third umpire for runs outs was first introduced whether we wouldn't have umpires referring run outs and stumpings but requiring teams to use as review for it.
