There are some world class players on display in the 6N. A back three of Van der Merwe (Sco), Penaud (Fr) and the Italian 15 would be right up there. Russell had a fantastic game.

Imo Scotland can hope to reach RWC quarters and wales should be worried about not getting out of theirs.

    Ha ha ha

You just signed your own death warrant

    We’ll win our pool

    You heard it here first

    But thanks for your concern

Sure, while we kept our powder dry for four years, your team has been hiding some far bigger water wings than anyone suspects.

@sparky he's got a couple who are playing well in Wales in McNicholl & Collins that he's overlooked so far.
Time must be up for the likes of North & Fluffbert, offering next to nothing these days.

Far too early yet but there’s a young fly half called Iwan Jenkins in the Exeter squad (out on loan atm I think), who is being talked up as having very serious potential.

The Welsh actually got themselves into Scottish 22 well.

But totally lacking in creativity, and backs standing so deep the defence didn't have to make challenging real time decisions.

Given the heritage, is it too much to expect a 'Welsh' 10 to be selected? Perhaps Tompkins to 12, and A N Other (can Hawkins play 13?) to 13?

I suspect English match may be a lot closer than pundits think.

Whilst Wales have been poor in the 6N recently, they grow another leg in Cardiff v England and let’s face it, currently England aren’t frightening too many teams either, no matter what any pundits may say.

Apart from a purple patch around 93-2003 I don’t think any English fans travel to Cardiff without some degree of trepidation.

@Catogrande not seen anything of Jenkins but Costelow at the Scarlets also has serious potential at 10.
Not sure what position Bristol player Ioan Lloyd or his brother Jac will end up playing but are also very talented.
Wales haven't blooded enough new talent since the last RWC & it's now coming back to bite us.

That's what it looks like from a distance as well. Hope Gatland bites the bullet and brings these other guys in.

Gatland really did little to bring on new blood imo. Fell back on the tried and tested for far too long and Pivac followed suit. Seems to be a very contagious disease as Eddie suffered badly too. Did not really blood a 9 or an 8 in six years despite some serial underperforming.

Didn’t see the game but Jenkins was trusted to steer the ship in the Premiership Cup semi final and weighed in with a very useful 16 points.

Foster the same, until injury forced his hand. Still holding onto some that shouldn't be starting, notably the captain

That is a very bold call considering the groups. Can't see Scotland beating Ireland. Wales should be able to improve enough to beat Fiji though.
How weird top 5 teams in world all on same side of the draw!
Spot on with back 3 though...

I'm not so sure. They seem capable of running the best teams, very, very close and seem to have upward momentum right now. Whether they can maintain that in the multiple game environment of a RWC is another question.
