7 birdies in the final round, and you are still over par after 17 holes!

I know Willett has been doing good things on the Euro tour, but hadn't seen much of him.

Someone pointed out on Twitter the importance of final round pairings.

Don't think it's a coincidence him and Westwood both thrived playing with eachother. A bit like Adam Scott in 2013 when he was paired with Marc Leishman.

In a micro sense, yes. He had a five shot lead, and had he just parred in he would have won comfortably. The first shot at 12 was just a bit offline, but the second was ugly.

In the greater scheme of things, though, he was the defending champion who had been sleeping on the Masters lead for 7 straight rounds. I'm not surprised it took it's toll. I am surprised about the way the wheels came off, though.

Norman just had a bad round, it wasn't one nightmare hole like Spieth.

Too true, I was more comparing to a one off hole collapse.

When Spieth chunked that second one into the water, I was gobsmacked. I can do that!!!

Choke is a bit much for someone who has 2 majors in quick time. Just had a bad hole. It is not like he repeatedly cracks under pressure. Take that one hole out of the equation and he is in the mix. Norman was suffering from the pressure from the beginning of the round and leaking shots every other hole. Anyway we will see how he responds.

JVDV was a stupid stupid decision to try the shot he did (which TBF, is exactly what I'd of attempted to do...one day that one in a million shot will come off!!)

Apparently this was the first time in 2 years Spieth has not won when leading going into the final round. When you look back over his weekend, he should have won this at a canter, but that it the beauty of the Masters!

Always seems such a tranquil and serene setting for that wonderful game we love to hate, but to pretty much lose the title on that 155 yard par 3 is just brutal - he played that hole par, par, birdie, quadruple

Spieth seemed quite fragile over the final 2 rounds - but he kept sinking putts to make birdies while dropping shots as fast. Final round was 7 birdies for a 73, 3rd round was 5 birdies for a 73, 2nd round was 4 birdies for a 74, 22 in all for the week. In contrast Willett only made 13 birdies but finished 3 ahead.
