@Duluth Yeah, Moana give up their home game as it helps them fund a game back in the Islands.

The interesting thought around Fakatava is this will be the first campaign where he has been the first choice and not injured. Even with Hawke's Bay he regularly had to share the nine jersey. We should have a good read on the guy and where he is at near the end of the season. Make or break season for him

Huge chance to get in the frame, along with Roigard. No excuses as you say
-
I hope he can kick on. He stuck around behind Smith, had injury issues and this is his big moving year. Be a key cog in turning around a team that has battled for years. He can put himself in amongst the top three halfbacks.
-
he's got the best shot with the next people in the backline, he's the experienced one now and so hopefully can lead that backline a little, do things different to nuggie if needed

@SouthernMann we are pretty blessed with plenty of halfback talent running around atm. There might be a few tough decisions to make for Razor when he selects the first team of the year. Just hope he doesn't select Christie. The selection of Christie over Roigard for that WC final was a shocker.

@Canes4life dont know if id say blessed, several with potential but still need 2-3 to really own the black jersey, this year is the perfect year for a couple of them to stake their claim

@Kiwiwomble plenty of talent out there is what I mean. Obviously we all want them to step up and hopefully they can do that. I'm sure injuries will dictate selections aswell at some point this year.

Still smarts. I don't want to overstate, but Cam was in superb form and could have been the difference maker in the final

@Bovidae apart from the Blues isn't it? Yeah it's bullshit, it's not totally a fair competition as it's still skewed towards the Australian teams.

But those losing their home games get more money then those nto though. So in general kiwi teams get bigger payouts (though I still not a fan of the idea )

Should the Rebels collapse as expected, the Herald understands the Jaguares are fast firming as the favoured replacement.@KiwiMurph That's a long flight to play one game.

A lot more competitive than Rebels though

Rugby Victoria has filed just one annual report to the consumer regulator since it took control of the Melbourne Rebels in 2017 – the same year it admitted the Super Rugby club was bleeding millions, and there was “significant doubt” it could continue operating as a going concern.
The governing body of rugby in Victoria – which owned the debt-riddled Super Rugby franchise until it entered into voluntary administration last month – could not explain why it had failed to submit any annual reports to Consumer Affairs Victoria since 2018, despite being legally required to do so.

Jaguars to return if Rebels fold interesting
Not surprised NZR were in talks with Jaguars about joining SR in the near future, I guess if the Rebels fold it paves the way sooner.

@Chris having the Jaguares in the comp makes it all disjointed again though. I don't know how I feel about it. I'd rather the Rebels survive tbh even though I don't think Aus should have more than 4 teams.

Anyone know if Super Rugby are aligning squad announcements this week? They were named at 3pm last week but nothing yet.
