I found this interesting from Vern Cotter in the decision of Tuipulotu over Papalii

Cotter said the decision to reinstate Tuipulotu was a case of it being the best man for the job.
“Because he’s very clearly the leader of this group and has been before.

    @Chris

He also said that Dalton was the caretaker captain for Patrick.

Both of those public statements together are a slap in the face for Dalts.

It could be a blessing in disguise for him. Just concentrate on playing and being the best 7 you can be and cement your place in the ABs xv

Yes, he did. Which I thought was really strange. Seems to be some pr bullshit to make it look like one big happy family.

I think there has been a small error from the Blues media people though. When this was announced they should've had Cotter, Tuipulotu & Papali'i available to answer questions

That might've delayed the announcement (not sure if Dalton is training again?)

The media person should've predicted the dumb 'Dalton dropped' headlines. The rugby media is bored at this time of the year and will over hype anything

If Cane is replaced as All Blacks captain, presumably you'd also have him at the ABs captain announcement this year?

Different situation, because unlike Papalii, Cane would be being dumped... unless of course Papalii really has been dumped and this is merely a PR spin.

Really unsure how it’s a slap in Daltons face. He doesn’t own the Blues captaincy.

I with you @Nepia , it's the captaincy. When Barrett was named at Crusaders, wasn't a big deal, and same when Taylor got the gig. By geez there is a lot of reading stuff inton little things, must be summer!

@Daffy-Jaffy You would think that one of the young NH locks (Cook, Christie) would be in line for a NDC spot.

I think these screen shots may be them both training with the team this week -

Sounds like Halangahu might be going to the Wallabies. Will the Blues need to replace him?

                            (from The Roar)

Daniel Halangahu, the highly respected assistant coach at the Blues who played alongside RA boss Waugh at the Waratahs, could also be someone on RA’s radar.

Given their play, I always thought the Blues would be better off without him. If he's going to the Wallabies, this could be a win-win...

Really hope this is a positive mood. Is this the weight he was when he burst onto the scene? Feel like he has looked a little bigger the past couple of years.
