Back to Dom Gardiner, I watched the SR final again and was really impressed with the impact he had when he came on. His work rate was immense and he put in a number of dominant tackles. Really rate this guy, and is unlucky to miss out on this team imo.
@akan004 I find my opinion on Gardiner as a player is fluctuating somewhat. When he first came on scene I was a bit meh, then he had the purple patch at the end of last year and I thought wow, this guy could be one hell of a player. Then he played lock this year and thought yep, can't wait to see what he can do at 6. Then he played 6 for a few games and I hate to say it, but I was pretty underwhelmed.
I didn't watch him all that closely on the weekend so I have no opinion on how he went.

A lot of that form was at NPC level. He has a lot of potential obviously
When you look at this squad he basically missed out to Suafoa. It's hard to argue against that

@Crazy-Horse Yeah, same but thought he did really well in the final though. Threw his body around like there was no tomorrow.

That's good to hear, but like I said I didn't really look out for him. I did notice him dive around. A shame he fumbled that crooked Chiefs lineout near the end, but who knows, had he scooped the ball up the Saders may not have won. So I am not complaining.

Seen Morgans name on this thread ? R u serious ? Also Seen Mafileo training w the ABs in a post somewhere good to see. Apparently he's covering for Newell who is still injured.

@BerhamporeNinja yeah Mafileo is training with the ABs as cover. Another the Canes are rumoured to not have signed. Ffs.

@Canes4life Tevita is most likely at Blues next season replacing Nepo/Hodgman but nothing in concrete yet , has moved provinces, blues have chased 2 crusaders props 1 maybe over line but nothing signed as of yesterday,and
@george33 changing NPC sides doesn't always mean a change of Super franchise. I will be surprised if he moves, again he's part of a maturing front row at the Canes that includes Aumua and Lomax.

Back to a potential replacement, it will depend on whether they want a LH or TH. Mafileo would have been covering both with only 5 props. Rakete-Stones would be one option as he did make the squad last year, but hasn't played much.
