@Rancid-Schnitzel although IMO the 2003 test was lost on the back of that TMO decision, had that try been awarded, that loss would unlikely have occurred.

There will be an excellent article on the TSF front page including analysis of this game, and some of the build up in about 10 days ...

Is that starting Wallabies pack the biggest tier 1 pack ever selected? 970 kgs if the official stats are to be believed.

          @akan004

It might be, hard to find exact details. Google suggests France had that record in 2019 with 962kg.

Earlier this year France put out a pack listed at 963kg

We were lucky to snag that one win vs Eddie's England too if memory serves - remember Perenara got charged down by Lawes who was just offside when they went to TMO so the English try was disallowed. I believe that was the game DMac started at fullback and had a blinder in the rain.

two scheduled games against England in 6 years. And both away.

The touring schedules really are fucked.

3 games to the RWC and we haven't seen Leicester, Stevenson, McCleod or Finau.

Leicester = injured, Stevenson = not in squad, McLeod = really only there to cover ALB missing, Finau = cruelled by the fact Frizzle learned how to beat up on the field as well as in clubs.

We will see Leicester in Dunedin if recovered, might see Finau (rest Frizzle/Jacobsen shits the bed) but if ALB goes well we won't see McLeod, def won't see Stevenson

It only makes sense to me if they see Jordan as the back up fb .

Then it becomes alb midfield cover , Clarke back 3 cover .

And if that’s the case , it’s unfortunate narewa and leister are unavailable , narewa would be the better choice for me because he plays right , less disruption .

For the squad - I reckon DMac is Beaudy's back-up i.e. if Beaudy gets injured, DMac slots in - they're the most like-for-like.

For this game, either Will or Jordie can cover fullback.

If we get comfortably ahead this week we might well see Richie subbed, Beaudy to first five and Will to fullback - allowing Fozzie to kill several birds with one stone.

Something to consider on the Stevenson over Clarke debate... it is all about covering not just positions, but roles in the case of an injury. I think they want someone like for like for Telea if he goes down. Rieko could provide that, but that requires changing their midfield, which ideally they don't want to do. The way the ABs backline lines up, 11 and 12/13 are the two positions that need to be covered on the bench.

In terms of combinations Clarke does have a lot of familiarity with Rieko, Telea and Beauden in the back 3.

I imagine we'll see both of Narawa and Leicester next week assuming fitness

@KiwiMurph although assuming all fit, you are unlikely to see a Clarke - BB - Telea back 3 in big games, I think BB & WJ are their preferred, its that other spot seems open for CC, LF & MT.

There's talk the crowd could closer to 85k.

Likely to be the biggest Bledisloe crowd since the last MCG Bledisloe in 2007.

the best part is when he said
"The New Zealanders think they are better than us. They always have"

Well, yeah we do, because yeah we are. And the record backs that up. At Test level. At Super level.

They've beaten us 45 times in history. The ABs have won 122 times.

I sincerely hope the ABs know they are better and play accordingly.

Pretty impressive crowd. I'd imagine a lot of Kiwis.

I know rugby is far down the pecking order in Australia, but the Wallabies still seem to draw pretty big crowds. Are there a lot of "casuals" who only attend Wallaby games?

Big weekend for the 'G with what i expect will be damn near a full house tonight.

And there will be a decent crowd at Richmond v Melbourne on Sunday as well

I know he's stirring, but I'm far more invested in us cleaning the floor with them this week than before I saw this.

@Kirwan been many years since Rugby has had that sort of influence here, but hey, that's just old Eddie.

Part of me knows Aussie rugby needs the win, maybe an awesome game with us winning would help too, but I'd love his smile to be wiped off with a donut after 80 mins and no final minute controversy this time!
