The worst half of Rugby from the all blacks I have ever seen just about. Dmac has been shit. What has happened to Samisoni Taukei'aho FFS. This is just embarrassing. I can hear Eddie now. Joke

      LOL -
They give Finlay Christie a 6 and Aaron Smith a 6.

I know I am a small petty man - but by gawd I like watching Eddie Jones rage a bit - that said the Wobblies are still a good sniff in RWC - that draw and that team - barring injuries - will be dangerous enough

He's been worse than Cheika used to be! Doesn't look happy eh.

Eddie vs Cheika during England vs Australia was top box stuff, shame this year didn't seem to have the same fireworks but at least Cheika got some revenge:

                    Aus with the choke

Not mental, they ran out of air

Excellent comeback from NZ. The big time players stood up big time

Fitting way for Nugget to say goodbye

Feel for DMac. Shit being outside Ginge and made terrible choices under pressure

At this stage, Eddie will be the happier of the two coaches going into the RWC

Barring injuries and some seriously stupid play they should win the Pool and meet Argentina in the QF

By that stage, it's a case of last man standing but their passage to a SF and a massive over achievement based on current results and ranking looks more likely than NZ's

Ofa T had his best game in black IMO. He should be on the plane. It seems he has given his silly penalties to Williams.

Way back at the start of the thread I side 'i wonder what DMac will look like with Christie handbrakes' we can see he looks shit

Would be interesting to see how RM looks with Christie at 9. Not great I'd wager. The difference in separation between the two lines with Smith on is remarkable

I recall BB looking shit with Christie starting at 9 against Scotland last year. But BB was also pretty shit that day.

Mo’unga is simply not good enough for that treatment. It would be the fastest way of scaring off Dmac, Perofeta, Cameron etc. If Razor can’t live within his means, he’s not good enough for the job

I do agree with what someone else was saying that DMac was probably under instructions to stand deeper to accommodate Christie’s laboured clearance. That didn’t excuse his poor non-contestable kicks, but that pairing was a disaster. Webber - who has an established combination with DMac - should be on the plane ahead of Christie. The only possible argument against it is that Brad is on his way overseas, but so is half of the rest of the existing team. The biggest problem in the first half, though, was the starting front row. Williams’ penalties opened the door for the Wallabies, while Laulala was back to his sloppy worst. That they couldn’t get ascendancy over an Australian front row down to its third or fourth choice props speaks volumes. It was also a bad day at the office for usually excellent Sam T at hooker. So nothing much went right in the first 40 minutes. But as Mike Snow says above, the fact that the senior contingent steadied the ship so calmly in the second half was testament to their resilience and bodes well for the crunch games ahead. Foster rolled the selection dice on this one and nearly came a cropper.

Only saw the first half but based on that the first thing I would do is hire Dan Carter as our 10 coach and his first role would be to talk Dmac through every decision he made. This test could be defining if he learned from it, but will he?

He doesn’t need to try to make something happen to get us to score fast points, he’s at 10, not 15.

His role is to get us territory and get us in pattern - that chip kick when we turned them over, are down by two tries and finally have some territory, that’s where you hold it and put us in pattern. Him immediately chipping it away was the most unforgivable part of today, it was nothing to do with bad service or having a bad day with the boot, it highlighted that what he has (mostly) learned at super level has not transferred to the test arena.

I still have hope for him but he needs a huge kick in the ass.

We really miss Beauden at the back, as a 2nd play maker and organiser. Jordan is a great player but better suited to wing at this level. Stevenson looks like a Super rugby player so far, dangerous on attack but being targeted by the opposition for his poor defense, which is not unexpected. Hopefully some subs just after half time can shift momentum...
