LF is too slow to be a really good winger, and can't pass well enough to be a good midfielder.
He's probably the best 7 in the squad though.

Kind of my thinking to. Has some good qualities, but he is a bit of a flat-track bully. My thought has always been he would be excellent in league.

That game kinda put the argument to rest that BB is crowding or taking over from Mo’unga. Dmac was doing pretty much the same thing. It's a game plan not a BB issue.

It seems that it could be the opposite, actually.

They seemed to go quite well when the 15 does more.

It could be that Mo'unga is better when he can get more space and needs another at first receiver, which seems to be what Dmac did a lot.

He has some pretty impressive attack stats in this game:

184 metres, 22 carries, 3 clean breaks, 9 defenders beaten.

However, he had 2 turnovers, made 3 tackles, missed 1, and what is not captured by theses stats is of course that he wasn't close to being in position to make other tackles.

I think if he had been kept in the environment last year he might be ready, but personally I wouldn't play him (definitely not start him) against the top teams as I think they'd exploit him on defence more than we could use him on attack.

if Roberson couldnt get him not to turn on defence like a second hand tug boat no one could. he had a whole super season with him and nothing changed

@gt12 yes but it’s still a game plan thing as a traditional FB is not that much involved at 1st receiver, or is it that revolving, between the two.

                Razor is the messiah.

It was NZRU and Fozzie chasing him away.

You need to get the story straight.

Oh this game gave Fozzie the ammo to stick with Christie on the bench.

Watching that fluffybunny run around putting fins on try scorers heads made me understand he's not just a shit player, but also a shit fluffybunny.

Christie had a good game off the bench against a beaten weak side. Used to be solid off the bench (good D) but his Test form has dropped significantly.

Roigard's introduction has been handled well and he's played in the majority of games this year so they wouldn't be doing that if Christie was 100% in the frame in the 23. While there's a small risk he might go to pieces as a rookie under pressure, he's just as likely to do something to win a tight game.

I'm not so sure. Can't speak about Super Rugby level, but I think RMo's defence has improved a fair bit at Test level. He's no longer a revolving door and some of his hits and cover defence in the RC were outstanding.

Also, I wish we still had Sevu Reece. I'd have him on the bench over Clarke and Faingaanuku

Sevu Reece was fun. Quick, explosive and one of those players where shit just fell in his favour. Probably because he had enough athleticism for things to happen. Like Beauden back in 2014-15.

@booboo maybe a touch of over-egging but yeah it's a bit strange he fell out of favour so swiftly when he was proven and better than LF/CC

Our medical team have provided an update on Sevu Reece following our game against the Blues in Round Four.

Sevu injured his knee and has had scans which have confirmed an ACL rupture and now he will undergo surgery to repair this. Unfortunately this rules Sevu out of rugby for the rest of 2023.

Did Reece fall out of favour ?
He has been out since March with an ACL rupture,he has just started back running in the last couple of weeks,
He should be right for Crusaders pre season starting in December.
