The wait on this one is killing me. I really really want us to win this. Not for Fozzies legacy or because I think we can go all the way. I think that would be a long shot.

I just find the average Irish rugby supporter to be totally unbearable. I first noticed it with their holier than thou approach to goal kicking. Ohh look at us we stay silent everyone else boos, so fucking what. You think the kickers give a shit? Its not good sportsmanship its just another type of intimidation. Just like you try and scream over the line out call at every fucking throw in.

I think it all really got out of hand around the time of the "He could have died" cleanout. It quickly became a spare tackle, even though there was no ball. Then it was intentional, then we should apologise.

After that any match we beat them in was because the Ref, or we cheated, or we were too physical or Jonny was targeted or the haka. Then when they started beating us, its not like the fans humbled in their success. No, now they didn't beat us they smashed us! Any infringement against us had to be a red, their infringements were again due to bad Refs or just different because reasons! See soak tackle, a phrase that has only been used once in all the international rugby I have ever watched. They are the only set of fans that think they need to "counter the haka" like its some sort of weapon, its a cultural tradition. If its such a problem just ask we won't do it.

But for me, the straw that broke the camels back, was the shitty mean girls sledging that their fans think is sooooo funny. "You're just a shit Richie McCaw" hahahah good one. That's the kind of shit that should wake you up in the middle of the night just to cringe at the mere thought of.

If we do win, they will be going over the footage frame by frame to see where they were cheated, of that I have no doubt. But for once I couldn't want for anything more.

This is our final, anything after this is a bonus I just hope the coaches are lighting a proper fucking fire in the players. I want to see us come out and show a level of physicality we normally reserve for South Africa right from the first whistle.

2 more days hurry the fuck up!!!!!

I think someone is having a bad day.

@Derm-McCrum I think @mooshld is married to an Irish lass. Maybe heโ€™s been getting some of that world famous craic from the in-laws?

At the risk of upsetting one or two Ferners, perhaps the selection of a Christie on bench would be a sign of confidence?

Ireland is pretty limited tactically, so if we nail exits and deny them chance to play multiple phases in our half itโ€™s hard to see them scoring tries.

On the other hand we have the outside backs to score from 40m out in theirs.

ABs ought to be looking to be 10 up at halftime. And maybe 15 by 60.

In which case, bench doesnโ€™t so much need impact to catch up, but composure and accuracy to keep Irish in their half trying to play catch up rugby.

Their bench represents a step down across the board.

      QED?

Assume Leicester/MT decision will be driven by Thursday hit out.

Likewise TL/NL starting decision. Assuming all front rowers fit, I assume the 23 will include EDG/TL/OT/NL, and Iโ€™d start with best maulers. Only Ryan can call that.

Rest to finish. Whatever the props, the AB scrum ought to be on top when Big Sam replaces Frizell.

What I want to see is some real muscle from our pack.
Get in and clear bodies at the BD, push their scrum back, show them who is boss. If this happens then the backs look after themselves.

                  @Frank

What I actually wrote and you chose to omit.

There is more risk in picking Roigard, but that's more than balanced out by the bigger upside in having Roigard on the bench.

                  and:

If I give Christie a 5/10 in a tight, must-win Test (probably really generous based on recent form), what rating would you give Roigard? The answer is you can't because he hasn't. That's an unknown. Which is a risk.

Does Roigard's skill-set, recent experience & performances merit taking that risk? Absolutely, and that's why I think he should be picked.

If you think that's somehow preferring or defending Christie over Roigard then clearly comprehension isn't your strong point....

My Bad. It was the 1000 or so posts you have written defending Foster that gave me the wrong impression.

Sounds like a good theory but I have an even better one, which is that you pick the guy who is in better form. Further, if your major concern is holding on at the end of the match, why not pick the guy with the massive left boot who can have you playing in the right part of the field during the closing stages of the match?

If Samisoni has dropped down the pecking order because of his form, itโ€™ll be intriguing if Roigard misses out because of his form ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

So the Christie v Roigard debate was everyone on TSF favours Roigard, including Christies mum and the only one that backs Christie is Fozzie?

And the only possible upside is that it has thrown Irish management into a spin because they didn't a actually believe Fozzie could be that stupid?

At least that's my summary of those posts...

Nah - proper craic is an everyone thing, not just one party.

Some people like to file their obnoxious behaviour or attitudes under 'I was just having the craic' or 'I was only joking' - invariably they're not really, in my experience. They just like being mean-spirited or cruel but are too cowardly to admit it.

                                          Apology accepted with grace.

And for the record I called for Foster to go after Ireland III as he clearly wasn't the coach able to turn things around and wanted either Schmidt, Robertson - or both - to take over. Still don't think he was the man, but we are where we are.

You can post on the state of NZ rugby, say not all the problems in NZ rugby are down to one man, give a view on why Foster and co might be thinking or doing something, say players need to take some responsibility and or say Ryan and co need to get their act together after the utterly crap served up by the forwards at Twickenham. And that's supporting Foster or being a Foster apologist. Weird.
