I really like the consistency and calmness of the front row when Lomax plays. And De Groot. While they keep winning I leave it to the coaches as to hooker. So lucky we have 3 v good v different styles of hooker.

Big shout out to the 4 young props. They have handled the last couple of weeks with aplomb. All 4 have played their part. Our scrum has been a different animal, hungry, mean, and balanced too. EDG and Lomax keep building their stocks and will only get better.

I wonder if Burgers comments are more calculated than just a whinge. Start sowing the seeds in the minds of Barnes or whoever refs the final. Get the press talking about how the All Blacks are a protected species

If that is the case, then it’s pretty dumb because I doubt any ref is reading any social media during the RWC.

They may not be scrolling X , but they’re not deaf to stuff making headlines. I’m sure they hear stuff.

Just strolled through the NH media on X.

To be fair most were high in praise of NZ and critical of Gardner not the over arching point. Only true exception of this …. Walrus.

He’s playing so many of you like a fiddle.

If you want NH media AB fanboy level read Paul Williams. If you want superb analysis read Murray Kinsella.

Walrus has no place anymore, except in his own ego, and relies on winding ppl up to remain relevant.

The icing on the cake from last night is that the Walrus and his Mini-me seemed to have enjoyed it so much.

Also - thoughts on whether Sami did enough to warrant the bench spot next week? Tough on Coles who hasn’t played badly, but he def adds a point of difference

Nope, his line out is still not accurate enough. And Coles is a point of difference too, just in a different way

@Machpants I'd prefer to have ST, he takes it straight up the middle when we need it and doesn't disappear off seagulling on the wing glory hunting. Coles is still good but if ST can keep up his throwing he has to stay on.

LOL glory hunting, dude 2s and 8s have been positioned on the wing by every team for the last 10 or so years. It is what they do now, in part due to Coles effectiveness there.

@Machpants not what you want in the last ten minutes of a WCF mate. When he comes on we need someone to make the hard yards up the park.

I guess we'll see what Fozzy's preference is later in the week, they both bring different things. Coles is a massive penalty magnet as well and has a reputation for niggle. We've done well so far eliminating most of that.

@LagerLout reading that post I thought I'd time travelled back to last decade. Got any stats on Coles' penalties in tests in recent years that shows the issue?

No, have you? However I do have eyes. The guy is constantly operating on the edge, if you can't see that, I can't help you. I like Coles but he is ten years outside his best and operating in the last decade when it comes to understanding the current set of referees.

No, have you? However I do have eyes. The guy is constantly operating on the edge, if you can't see that, I can't help you. I like Coles but he is ten years outside his best and operating in the last decade when it comes to understanding the current set of referees.

Hmm, I dunno man - I feel like he’s found the balance lately. Good mix of playing with an edge but not doing the real dickhead stuff.

But I’m still torn between him and Sami given we have just the one game left
