There is the “Black Caps in decline” factor which should make that series more competitive.
But yes this Australian Summer is doing “Test” cricket absolutely no favours at all as a spectacle.

Maxwell hospitalised after night on the piss. "Managed out" of upcoming series.
Murmurings are it may habitual (after falling from a golf cart a month or so back).

Got the shits with his interview today. To my mind he effectively threw his team name (Maxwell) under the bus ("oh, I went home early ... didn't see anything ..."). Just comes across to me as Mr Teflon, smarmie and self important. Like this year's Tim Paine. Got the media gushing but to me he's a fake IMO.
What was that bullshit line they came up with post sandpaper? Elite ethics, or elite something.
