Interesting article, I wonder if the author ever contemplated getting a life?

It’s got to be a hoax surely? What kind of miserable fluffybunny gets worked up enough to write an article about observations towers being overrated

He's just salty because he never got to interview Starbrite and Clark about the details of their first date....

How far away do you reckon that Aussie journo was from asking what position Starbrite Jr was conceived in?

On one hand, that journo is a creep. Seriously, asking a PM those kind of questions is beyond crass and stupid when he could be asking actual important questions about policies and issues.

On the other hand, Rainbow Brite and Gaylord are doing interviews about baby and dating and other vomit-inducing fluff for fucking everyone, so I guess creepy journo thought if I can't beat em, I'll join em.

@smudge I agree, and feel bad for those communities, especially the rural ones. Losing meaty and relevant local content in exchange for more Stuff fluff is pretty rubbish. One of the reasons I left Fairfax all those years ago, because I saw the trend moving towards bullshit advertorial content rather than news, and if I'm going to be in marketing/PR rather than journalism, fuck being paid (top of the scale) 34k.

@mokey haha yep, how many of these headlines entice you to click (only to have been mislead by the headline as well)

There’s a chrome upgrade which shows which articles are overseas ones with misleading headlines to make you click on them apparently

@jegga what I mean is often a headline (even NZ articles) have a sensationalist thumbnail headline, but click in and actual headline is more sedate.

Anyone would think they get something out of the clicks...

I hear you but another one of their tricks is to put up a headline and you click on it thinking it’s happening here when it’s on the other side of the world

Phew, I was worried about Jacinda's credibility but now that Rebel fucking Wilson has praised her I can rest easy.

Bit of a commotion in Greytown as we were passing through the other day so decided to try find out what it was. Uncovered this wee gem of small town reporting which made me chuckle. I was especially fond of this bit...

Wellington man Chris Favre said he turned up to eat at the building, only to find people filing out.
It had provided a bit of excitement in the afternoon. "I wasn't expecting this," he said.

    The comments are brilliant too.
