@MN5 It is pure clickbait. you can't call it debate or discussion, because the woman is clearly shedding herself of baggage she has carried for a long time, and isn't the slightest bit interested in acknowledging any positives.

I'm not saying she didn't have some bad experiences, but to say this is small town NZ is a crock of festering shit.

Reading some of that dribble, if she had bad experiences, she brought them on herself. I don't think I'm going far out on the limb to suggest those who have been exposed to her personality would call her a thunder fluffybunny.

Remember those red necks in Carterton that voted in the worlds first transgender mayor? Backward fucking country hicks.

Anyway it's obvious click bait and it sounds like she was the only chick that didn't score at the orgy and she's been pissed off about it ever since .

Someone put her in touch with Stephen Jones, they can form a "I hate New Zealand" support group.

Thinking about it how ugly would a chick have to be not to get laid at an orgy? I would chuck her name into google images but I'm worried about what I'll find

That statement is partially true, it all depends on how much @mariner4life had to drink before putting on the moves.

In a way you're right I suppose many a Lena Dunham has turned into Catherine Zeta Jones over the course of an evening due to a combination of alcohol and desperation .
So yeah , I'm right behind the sisterhood on this one.

Still not googling her name though.

Anyone know the the angle with the likes of these articles ? Is it a case of the editor going "ok, write something as bitter, spiteful and resentful as you can and watch the clicks come in"......

I'm somewhat surprised TSF has been dragnetted by this article.

    Ok, here we go ...

I applaud stuff nation for doing these articles. And many of the responses above really do justify it. Of course, I don't agree 100% with everything that is said in them, but there certainly are themes which are accurate, elements of them which cut close to the bone and I'm sure there are experiences that most people can relate to.

At some point in life, everybody should sit back and look at things from the opposite point of view to see where they are coming from. In my opinion, that is what is being done here. I'd still argue to this day with my wife that we should bring up our children in NZ, but then I read articles like this, and think the rose tinted glasses may be on.

Bullying at my school was endemic. I'm not big, was quite smart (was!), and didn't think life revolved around surfing and smoking dope. Thus, I was a natural target for many - I don't know how many times I was told I was gonna get a hiding, or get it on the way home. I had days I was scared to go to school. I probably only really got "it" maybe 3 times, but it still happened. And you know what ... I think there was probably at least 100 kids at my school of 7-800 who had it worse. Hell, under the natural pecking order of bullying, I was even the perpetrator at times. Doesn't matter how you look at it, that's just fucked up.

But these stories aren't about me. My story is nothing compared to others. Somebody very close to me had a full mental breakdown at 33 years old. The therapy, social workers etc all traced it back to being bullied at school and upbringing.

So, I suggest, and I fully expect to get ridiculed for this, that perhaps people should just read them and have a think. It's not about your experience. As lets face it, most of you are the rough, tough, big, strong rugby players that are being referenced. I'm not saying that they shoudn't be criticized (getting into a cold bed ... FFS!), but I do think it's a good, worthy series from stuff, which may help open up some peoples eyes.

    Clouds Completely Ruin Child’s Day

    --Stuff--

Cloud cover has completely ruined a young child’s day in New Zealand. The offending nimbulus particulus
have been photographed below, encroaching en masse upon what should be an idyllic view.

    alt text
“The mountains too, Mummy. They are completely blocking my view of the horizon. MAKE IT STOP
    MUMMY I FUCKING HATE THEM.”

The clouds, sickeningly, appear to be unanswerable to anyone. Calls to the Meteorological Service by “Stuff”
interns were met with what can only be described as “terse” responses.

    alt text
“Mummy, they’re here too. Take me home immediately, Mummy. Mummy, do they have clouds in Saudi
Arabia? I want to go to there NOW, Mummy.”

@Bones can you please translate this guys name when you get a sec ?

@MajorRage no argument from me there, after a year and a half of no bullying my son got put in a chokehold by another student till he blacked out. The response from the headmaster was " boys will be boys" , I know of the little shits fathers background ( former test player- not NZ) and he did everything he could to make it go away. i wanted to take it further but my boy was over the whole thing and just wanted to put it behind him. If anyone is interested in knowing who the bullys father is pm me, I've told quite a few people what he got up to before he had to move here and they are quite surprised that someone trying to make out they are a pillar of the local community has done something that belongs on the Justice in NZ 2.0 thread . His son ain't going to learn taking responsibility for his actions from his d

I cant help but think you have not actually read the article. Because making up shit, smearing vast swathes of the population based on generalisations and spouting male hating propaganda is not justified.....no matter how bitter someone feels about their childhood.

@Dr-شبكة-خبارية yep, that's the thing, she is painting the picture that this is unique to NZ.

When I lived in the UK I had so many people (Brits) that said to me, why did you move here? Then I came back and so many people here said why did you come back?

If your glass is half empty, fill the fucker up!

@MajorRage look your point isn't unjustified in general, but in terms of this article, and our response, it's missed the mark. NZ isn't perfect, but then has anyone ever said it was? I was bullied at school, a later developer, i was tiny until i turned about 16, and even then i was just a taller rake. Do i blame NZ for this, or does it cloud my judgement of the country? Does it fuck.

Most of that bullshit she craps on about could be said about any western country in the world, and a lot worse could be said about most of them. Her points had just enough element of truth in them to get some onside (especially the anti-rugby brigade), but there were some fucking loooong bows drawn to flesh out the points. Some of it was just laughably wrong.

Is bullying bad? yes. Do some kids struggle with their upbringing? yes. Is this problem a particular NZ one? Fuck no.

Dragnetted? The thread title is describes stuff as shit and the discussion is about the shit they post masquerading as news. We could talk about the trend over the past few months of them putting up headlines that make you think they are in NZ but when you click on them it turns out they are on the other side of the world. I'm guessing people are getting gunshy of clicking on those so they've gone to defcon 5 and got someone to write six miserable articles about NZ, next week they'll have someone rebutting it .
Anyway, if you've seen a photo of her would you?
