@Canes4life I posted a few weeks back (from the Manawatū Standard) that Jai Tamati (halfback) and Liam O’Connor (1st 5) have a NDC. They might be amongst the young players you saw. Maybe a few others from the NZ U20s too like Sam Coles.

@Canes4life Nic Souchon. Played for Otago, Southland and BOP and has most recently been over in the states in the MLR. Plays hooker.

Might be the angle in the below photo but Tuifua makes Plummer look small. Apparently Tuifua is 1.91m and Plummer is 1.98m, however it definitely looks like Plummer is looking up at him.

Yeah none of the AB XV players are with the Canes either. Quite a few missing atm, but it will be like that for most squads.

@Canes4life what I find intriguing is the likes of Love and Kirifi who were in the ABs but never played does that make their rest period the same as the ABs that played. They don’t play at all for the last couple of weeks.

I understand they're entitled to four / five weeks AL and use this as an opportunity to do so.

Not just about physical rest though in fairness. Mental rest is key too... and they have been doing a ton of training.

To my understanding Ruben Love was returning to NZ to have ankle surgery. Told it’s likely to just be a tidy up and shouldn’t miss the start of Super.
