Gonna be honest and say I'm very disappointed, O'Neill and Proffit shouldn't be there at all, TTT is still there. How do we lose a prop in Kaivelata and not sign another when that's arguably the weakest position.

Proffit and O'Neill were the second choice props last year - would be a bit of a blow to lose both (/either).

With youngsters in Ratima and Roe, not sure you need another young halfback necessarily so Tahuriorangi isn't a bad option as your third choice (though would have also been happy with Lennox).

Promoted another lock (Sa) but still lacking wing cover.

Rona, Tupaea and Wrampling can play on the wing so not really a major issue. LCF doesn't fill me with confidence but everyone else is handy in the role.

McMillan is loyal. I'll be curious to see who is in the wider group now.

TH prop depth is thin within the region. There are some good up and coming LHs though.

a big year for Ahio hope he really standup to his potential
loose forwards always was going to be interesting given the talent around 6 . would imagine Smith is the one earmarked for future.
given the talent signed out of region elsewhere bit disappointed with who we kept on the wing

I see a big future for Fiti Sa. Followed him down here in CHCH, has a big future. Could be similar to a Retallick situation where he’s one that got away(Definitly not implying he’s the next Retallick, just an example). Good solid squad overall.

He just needs to grow into his body and get over the injuries. A huge unit to see up close. The Chiefs obviously rate Sa as they brought him back on a NDC contract this year after an injury-plagued season in 2023.

Is Sa related to the league Sa? I think he has Christchurch connections too.

Hoped Kumeroa instead of another lock.

Not just a one year signing.

I think that is a good signing for him, the Chiefs and NZ.

I'm not sure how long Slater has re-signed for but ST is also signed until 2027.

Now McMillan has to select the right 23, particularly the starting midfield and reserves.

According to an article in the Waikato Times, Fiti Sa was signed last year after the NPC final. He was given another NDC for 2024 as they didn't want to rush him. Younger brother Jayden Sa has a NDC for 2025.
