All Blacks vs Fiji

Ethan is just coming back from injury, but you'd hope for a bit more from him. It's Dalton then a lot of daylight in the 7 jumper.
Regardless, if he can't keep up against an average Fiji, he shouldn't be there. He'll get blitzed by better teams.

The only thing you can really take from a game like this is players who shit the bed or look ineffective.
And I don't agree with Marshall that Ethan looked good. Busy yes.

Very clinical performance. EB was the only one I can think of that struggled, everyone else played well really. ALB playing well at 12 was a big plus and great to see Clarke still in form after his injury as he is an absolute weapon down the left.
@No-Quarter
Jacobson 3 runs 2 meters
Blackadder 6 runs 38 metersWho struggled???

@antipodean He's a bit of a lightweight at this level isn't he? Like, he gets around and tries to attack everything, but half the time he got folded at breakdown time and was left falling over, and he falls off tackles by over committing. He did a few good things out there but most of the time I thought he was rather ineffective, and that was against Fiji.
I fear for him if he plays against the bigger packs, not through lack of endeavor of course, but I think he gets hammered against the bigger packs.

@Toddy
Jacobson 3 runs 2 meters
Blackadder 6 runs 38 meters
And they had virtually the same tackle stats.

tackle statsjacobson 8 and 1 miss
niggles 7 and 4 misses is not the same@ploughboy fair. But on the flip side Blackadder was clearly far more effective on attack. Two meters for an All Black loose forward against Fiji, really???

@African-Monkey if Blackadder is a light weight against Fiji with 36 meters from 6 runs what the hell does that make Jacobson with 2 running meters for the whole game. It’s quite clear a number of people on the fern can’t stand Blackadder and will never accept his efforts regardless of what he does.

Jacobson had 3 runs for 2 meters and Blackadder 6 runs for 36 meters. Your observations are clearly clouded by some sort of bias. -

@Stag Never said I was huge in Jacobsen either.
He made 1 run in the first half where he went about 10 meters, before not keeping his weight and giving away a penalty for nit releasing, then made a good run in the midfield from a set piece early in the 2nd half off the top of the line out (part of the good things he did if you read my post). When he gets the ball off first phase from most line outs off the top, he is going to make a few meters per carry. My criticisms were also more defense and breakdown related too.
I notice you're always angry and sulking on here lol, lighten up a bit.

Some tough decisions to be made.
The team that started against England wasn't the top side. -

The team that started against England wasn't the top side.@BerniesCorner Slight difference in class of opposition today compared to England I think it's fair to say?
-
Yeah but it's obvious some guys have a quicker pass, others can distribute the ball under pressure. Some aren't phased by test rugby and have a high work rate.
-
I can't believe they didn't use Clarke during the England series - I mean how many times would have it been better to have Caleb punching and getting over the gain line rather than Telea dodging 5 tacklers and getting caught behind the advantage line?
-
Ardie made forty metres, best 7 defenders, and I thought he was pretty anon for Ardie. Sititi made 24m and 8 tackle no misses in 25 mins. He was the only loosies that was really good this game. I'll give Jacobsen line out tick, tho. But 4 misses out of eleven, is not good bladder. Two metres is not good Jacobsen. Ardie did the same as their best bits combined in 55 mins, and sititi almost did in25!
