The worst part is, who the fuck can they get to replace him? No one is going to look at that roster/cap situation and think it is a good move.

Aspiring coaches will see their reputation getting tanked as they can't turn trash in to treasure. Established coaches will wait for a better situation with better pieces. No one good (an not desperate) is taking that job.

Exactly. The only thing in their favour is being in the worst division in the NFL, so you're always in with a chance of making the playoffs. And they aren't a historically bad franchise.

But QB is ugly. They probably try and take a chance on a guy like Fields, or else tank hard and try and take a QB in the top 10. No idea what this draft class is like though.

2025 draft class doesn't look like a great QB group.

There are only 32 HC jobs in the NFL so every role is appealing. Every vacant role generally has roster problems, although this saints team is probably worse than most.

Their cap situation has been awful for years but they used various maneuvers to keep pushing out the hits. They've been one of the main reasons you occasionally hear 'the cap is a lie'. The reality is it always comes due.

            mmm saints are a mess
fans are getting real shitty too
saw belichik being asked about them today, and he just sort of shook his head
afterwards i thought, jeez he's a roster expert, maybe saints have already chatted him

i think johnson oc lions may have knocked back a hc position at end of last

lions are awesome, best right now imo

Saints went downhill when they stopped giving the ball to Taysom Hill on every snap in a variety of different positions.

                i kinda like hill
i think that type of player can be effective
probably like to see more running backs who can pass
rather than QBs who can run
                small but important difference

anything that keeps defences guessing can get you that split second extra time.

He was fun! Not a great QB, but a real swiss army knife of a player

Yeah I rate him. They probably needed to use him more than they wanted to, given their distinct lack of options in the passing game.

There have been 2 instances in NFL history where a QB had:

                        30+ completions
                        300+ passing yards
                        4+ TD passes
                        multiple 40+ yard TD passes
                        no more than 1 INT

...and yet still lost. Those 2 instances were Joe Burrow vs the Ravens in Week 5 & Joe Burrow vs the Ravens again yesterday.

@Cyclops cracking game. The Bengals are the best 4-6 team I've seen I think.

They finish with the Steelers twice, chargers Browns titans and Broncos. Could potentially go on a tear to get to the playoffs

Cardinals starting to look really good.

Showing how much good coaching can make a difference, the Chargers are quietly very good this year.

Just cutting out dumb mistakes, improving special teams and having an ounce of injury luck and now they are 6-3.

Payton having much the same impact in Denver. They aren't stacked with talent but they don't make dumb mistakes that hand their opposition the game.

In addition to the Jets, I really do enjoy watching the Cowboys fail. Jerry Jones is right with Rodgers as one of the most contemptable people in sport.

The stadium that blinds its own receivers with the sun is just so perfect. It's everything about Jerry all wrapped up in one. Stupidity to build it like that in the first place. Obstinance to not have it (easily) fixed. The sincere belief he's playing 4D chess and the media are all just jealous of his success.

I mean the bloke is Joe Biden's age and still running an NFL team. They traded a 4th rounder for a Panthers receiver who can't get on the field, while guys like Mike Williams and DeAndre Hopkins go for 6th or 7th rounders.

I wish them nothing but endless failure, and with Jerry at the helm I know that's what I will get.

Carlton don't have a Jerry Jones, though. Nobody does in AFL, or any of our sports. Kennett and Eddie were loudmouth spokespeople but they weren't making trades or anything.

                                          It's just so American.
