Didn't say when it would be released next week did it?
I actually like Canes attitude on this throw us out a tidbit and keep us talking about them and the super comp.Worked really well for the landers when they extended TB's contract.
Yep, what I meant though we all moan at times about not enough promo etc for super rugby, just I think putting out bits like this keeps us discussing it a bit. Why I think NZ teams do so well at getting a team on news most weeks during perseason. I must admit after living in Aus for 20 years where you were lucky to hear or read any rugby on news, I just like seeing it.
Something we used to do in one club I was on committee of in NZ years back, we would try and find some reason to get the club in local newspaper (not for bad shit)especially and when we were looking for sponsors made sure we showed tham how often we got mentioned etc.You guys were obviously amazing.

Reckon the person running the socials this year is, to quote my 12 year old son is fire. Really refreshing getting an update nearly everyday during pre season a huge step up in previous seasons it seems.
It’s this guy. Think he went to the Blues and then the Canes got him back.

@Canes4life
And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the LORD was with him. (KJV)
(Or variations whereupon...)Who that?

What we want isn't it mikey, getting the Canes in our thinking etc. I been pleased with the socials etc and even all the super clubs getting on news etc.

This is the challenge for fan engagement. Its requirements are diverse.
Someone born in the 50s wants items on 6 PM news. Huge swathes of the rugby watching population don't even watch the news. The beneift I generally see with linear TV items is the digitial reach after they run. The audience you get with an initial item may be limited. Yet, the follow up and sharing is where the real bang for buck comes.
Kids enjoy the likes of the likes of superhero roumds.
There is the demand for inside camp story telling on YouTube and other channels.
A lot of fans get their information from Instagram reels. Whether it be SportNation, DSPN or other channels.
Some fans are interested about stories on players outside rugby. Others just want to watch the games.
Then there is the demand for face to face fan engagement. Which has limited reach but very good results.
Modern communication has a lot of challenges. It is hugely different to even pre-covid. Let alone 10 + years ago.
Super clubs are compting for fans with well resourced other codes overseas. Whether it it NRL, NBA, NFL, EPL time poor consumers want the same level of quality from they see from the overseas clubs produced by NZ franchises with no where near the resourcing.

@SouthernMann Yep and you right on mate, as you say those of us older want to see rugby on news as we don't bother or probably know anything about a lot of internet sources, even radio works well again for a demographic I guess.. Also bang on with super hero rounds, even old buggers like me can see how well they work (mainly talking to great grandson etc).
See even when I go to Naki games, I have kind of seen why the nusic gets played (though Naki have it not too loud) when I see young kids dancing around and singing etc.
I think the game in country is getting quite good at doing this stuff with limited recourses and obviously population. -

Such a shame Laidlaw didn't see him as a 10 in the playoffs this year...

Brett Cameron has failed to perform twice in the playoffs, time to move on.
I couldn’t believe that Laidlaw made that decision after Love got us on a run leading into the playoffs.
The first thing the Hurricanes need to make sure of is we don’t play the Brumbies in Canberra during the playoffs. The refs blatantly favour them over there and it’s been our undoing for the last four out of five years.

Sorry I didn't post properly. A shame Laidlaw didn't see Love as a 10 in the playoffs. He could have given us the chance to win that Cameron didn't

I’m hoping we go for the following starting backline and reserves.
- Roigard
- Love
- Naholo
- Higgins
- Proctor
- Moorby
- Barrett
Reserves
21. Vijoen
22. Harkin
23. FineanganofoCameron, Sullivan, Punivai, Rova all play big supporting mins this year.
-
Long time lurker - thats the backline I wanna see too. Good to see Jane mention putting Jordie at the back but I doubt he'll start there.
re not facing the Brumbies again. Will be difficult to get home finals with the shithouse draw we have (again) this season. Getting a bye in week 1 sucks.

The Hurricanes always get shit draws. When was the last time we started the year at home at the Tin in round 1?
Fiji in round 3 is going to be tough.

@Canes4life 2021 against the Blues in Super Rugby Aotearoa and before that 2013 also against the Blues.

Convincingly beaten in both might I add

I'll see myself out....

@Canes4life that's a handy backline.
