Black Caps in Zimbabwe

Just creating this thread for our tour of Zimbabwe which includes the T20 tri-series with SA and then our two tests against Zimbabwe to pad our averages a bit.
I saw the first innings of our match against SA on Wednesday, Robinson started slow but fought hard to get us to something defendable, and I see Duffy was the best of our bowlers. Good start to the tour.
It's all live on ThreeNow, the T20s are an 11pm start, but the tests will be 8pm.
The T20 series is obviously pretty meaningless but I'll probsbly watch the first hour of each game.

Shout out to Bevon Jacobs who never got a game under Stead - the new coach picks him in his first game in charge and Jacobs responds with a wonderful batting effort on debut
Was anybody actually calling for his inclusion before he was plucked from nowhere for the IPL?

I was thinking of the 3 match series at home vs Sri Lanka where he was selected in the squad but never got a game - was a waste of an opportunity.

Well we smacked SA last night, I saw most of the first innings before going to bed, they didn't have any answers to our bowlers. Looks like Seifert got going to get us home at a canter.
We have our last game against Zimbabwe tomorrow before the final against SA on Saturday night.

Duffy
Henry?
Thought he looked familiar.

Good effort from Henry to defend 8 in the final over against two set batters. 2 wickets plus a dropped catch. Another brutal choke in a knock out for the South Africans.
They've already reached their allocation for world titles for the next decade at least

Nice to win a meaningless T20 series no one will remember 2 weeks from now… but seriously how good is Henry across all 3 formats now
I’ll have forgotten two days from now…
Matt Henry’s improvement across all formats is inspiring stuff. The numbers are excellent across the board.
Still got quite a few years left in the team provided injuries and form don’t become issues for him.
Considering until fairly recently he was pretty much a spare part if Southee/Boult/Wagner broke down he’s done so well to get where he is

One of those players where stats and a bit of luck finally swung the way of talent that was always there.
yep hard work pays off and he is a hard worker off the field as well as on.

Southee made a career out of chucking pies from start to finish. Now he is teaching the English bowlers not sure what though.
