Nice to win a meaningless T20 series no one will remember 2 weeks from now… but seriously how good is Henry across all 3 formats now

I’ll have forgotten two days from now…

Matt Henry’s improvement across all formats is inspiring stuff. The numbers are excellent across the board.

Still got quite a few years left in the team provided injuries and form don’t become issues for him.

Considering until fairly recently he was pretty much a spare part if Southee/Boult/Wagner broke down he’s done so well to get where he is

Not bad for a one time pie chucker

Southee made a career out of chucking pies from start to finish. Now he is teaching the English bowlers not sure what though.

Black Caps captain Tom Latham has been ruled out of the first test against Zimbabwe after suffering a shoulder injury.

He would have been hoping to finally get his first century since 2022.

Breaks an impressive run for Latham too
its the first test he has missed since 2014..
He had played 88 successive tests
The Black Caps record is 101..can you guess who it belongs to? (without cheating!)

So McCullum played ALL his tests in a row without being rotated, injured or dropped ?

That’s quite impressive I must say.

Here’s my XI for this game

    Young
    Conway
    Ravindra
    Nicholls
    Mitchell
    Blundell
    Santner
    Smith
    Henry
    Patel
    O’Rourke

KW not being there leaves a fucken chasm at 3….no Latham fucks the batting order too but in saying that they should put these chumps to the sword 2-0

Ok I was one off, Bracewell in for Patel.

Very strong batting line up, maybe a pace bowler short. Nicholls listed at three.

Would like to see a shitload of runs from the much hyped Ravindra

Looking forward to a scratchy 30 from Nicholls

Disappointing Duffy isn't getting a run.

Henry, 2 chances created, 2 taken in the slips.

Plus a bunch of mishits and edges that went to ground.

Not long ago the sight of both Mitch Santner AND Michael Bracewell in the same team would have filled me with rage.

One of them certainly came right at this level, let’s see if the other one can.

It really is a shame they didn't use this as an apportunity to give an up and coming player a chance instead of Nicholls.

67/4 at lunch. Feel like we're a batter short with Blundell coming in an 6. Probably won't matter.

Henry with 3 of the wickets. Doesn't have a 10fer in his career yet - they're pretty rare for NZ bowlers not called RJ Hadlee. Maybe this test?

I hope Patel gets a run in the second test - he's close to 100 test wickets, none of which have come at home yet.

Henry outright 10th now. A bit sad that Chats is now out of the top 10.

    @Cyclops

Possibly a batter short but Blundell has batted six for awhile now ( with poor form of late overall ) and Bracewell, Santner, Smith and Henry are a very strong 7-10 line up. Won’t matter against Zimbabwe like you say.

Chatfield might be out of the top ten but it was always going to happen with other good bowlers coming in.

    Magnificent from Henry again.

Pretty predictable scoreline to wake up to, would be nice to see one or both of these guys get a big one.

he's been second to Bumrah in the last WTC cycle. Averaging 18.
