Gutted for Darcy
He’d already played himself into the 2nd Test 23 in less than 20 mins
If McCarthy is injured then Beirne to second row and Morgan to 6
Chessum and Pollock on the bench, Earl had no impact tonight
Farrell has played himself into the 23 along with Mitchell and Kinghorn
My thoughts for Saturday
1 Ellis Genge 2 Dan Sheehan 3 Tadhg Furlong 4 Maro Itoje (Captain) 5 Joe McCarthy (Beirne if McCarthy is injured) 6 Tadhg Beirne (Morgan is McCarthy is injured) 7 Tom Curry 8 Jack Conan
Backs
9 Jamison Gibson-Park 10 Finn Russell 11 Hansen (if fit) 12 Sione Tuipulotu 13 Huw Jones 14 Tommy Freeman 15 Hugo Keenan
Replacements
16 Jamie George 17 Andrew Porter 18 Will Stuart 19 Ollie Chessum 20 Henry Pollock 21 Alex Mitchell 22 Owen Farrell 23 Blair Kinghorn

Gosh yes. The universe has really played with Darcy.
Nope.
Okay.
Okay - Yes!
Nope.It must suck for him. My sporting commiserations.
Incidentally, I would love to see Pollock come in off the bench. Think he will bring some zing to affairs.

No British and Irish Lions team has every won every game on tour. Andy Farrell's squad are two games from achieving what no Lions team has ever done before.
Just as well the Argentina game doesn't count as on tour eh

@KiwiMurph It took place in Dublin so it was a home game for the British and Irish Lions and their first ever game in Ireland. For me, it was a warm-up game rather than part of the tour itself.
I'm pleased to see the approach you're taking on this and in the same spirit I'm adapting it to prove the All Blacks have never lost by removing outcomes I'm not enamoured of.
-
I'd suggest that my interpretation is backed by the facts of geographical fact. Dublin is in Ireland so therefore a game there is not part of a tour by the British and Irish Lions.
However, this quote from the Lions' own website on the Argentina game somewhat undermines my interpretation.
Either way, winning every game in Australia would be a unique achievement for a Lions touring squad, although obviously one aided by shorter tours, neutral refs and the less challenging nature of the opposition on this tour.

So even the team that lost disagrees with your take. Perhaps you should ruminate on that.

@antipodean I did.
The key point is surely this. If the Lions win these last two games, it will be seen as a massive achievement by their fan base and they will talk about it for years and years and years.

no i won't because Australian rugby is dogshit.
England, Scotland or Ireland would expect to come here and pretty much do the same thing, let alone a team of their best players combined.

It won't stop them celebrating like they've won the World Cup and put a man on the moon.
If his team wins these two games, it will be Sir Andrew Farrell.

Folks in Australia may have largely tuned out from their national Rugby team, but that's not how people in the UK and Irish Rugby media and their readers see it.
This from the BBC website gives a flavour of how it is seen there and what Andy Farrell thinks is at stake.

They do that when they win a penalty.

Mugabe was knighted.

Almost like a combined England, Scotland and Ireland against Wales?
-
@antipodean said in Wallabies v Lions II:
They do that when they win a penalty.
Earls does it when the opposition knock on

I do hope Jac Morgan is rewarded this week with a spot in the 23.
