Robertson is definitely being more bold in his selections.

Poss. see this as a banana-skin game hence a pretty conservative bench and a continuity backline from the French series

So Christie is not going overseas? Seems odd for him to be playing this match (for himself and from the AB perspective) and ruining his chances with Scotland.

I think there may of been a mix up, the rumour was he was going to Newcastle, but turns out it's Tom Christie.

      And Scotland don’t need him

We better be up by plenty with about 20 minutes to go, because our team is going to go backwards with the bench like that. That's what I call negative impact

The forward bench will have plenty of impact.

ALB's bench impact consists of penalties, errors and yellow cards.

You would like to think he is on notice but I doubt it - much more likely is that he is part of the tenured AB group who don't seem to be under selection pressure (of which there are a few)

He'll probably be very conservative all RC. The last thing he wants is to lose two Championships on the trot

The civil servant of Rugby players.

I was done with this lad, and Beaudy and Goodhue and Reece after the 2019 RWC.

I cannot believe some of them are still around.

Without Will Jordan and Jordie Barrett we got nothing in the backline.

They are the only two players in there who have both the reputation AND perform to a level commensurate with that reputation consistently.

The rest are journeymen, players on probation (Proctor), players over staying welcomes and/or teacher pet picks.

A high performance unit it is not.

Ireland, England, France, South Africa et al would not be banging down the door to take Reece, Beaudy, Rieko, Finlay Christie, ALB or Proctor off our hands.

@Jet And our defence is rather leaky.

Without Will Jordan and Jordie Barrett we got nothing in the backline.

@Victor-Meldrew Razor just wants to bank a win in the first game, and then will be aiming to chnace his arm in the second.

He'll probably be very conservative all RC. The last thing he wants is to lose two Championships on the trot

And despite all the talk of being more bold in selections, test match rugby being a big man's game and learning various lessons from in his time so far as coach, he'll be falling into the exact same trap as last year - where the All Blacks won three of their six Rugby Championship games, thinking experience trumps all, only selecting more inexperienced players when forced to and sticking with players who have been on the decline for years.

I dont think they would bang the doors down for any of them to be honest.

@Jet maybe not “bang the doors down”. But they’d make Ireland’s 23.

Beauden easily starts at 10 for them. Prendergast is crap.
