Why isn’t it Savea? Some of our best performances under Razor have been when Ardie’s been skip.
The rot in this team has been around for a while and Savea is part of it. Someone relatively new would be nice

Savea is the obvious choice. He’s got the backing of most of the players, not sure Barrett does as captain tbh.

He’s been in the leadership group for 8-9 years. He frequently finishes the match as captain. He clearly doesn’t make much of a difference. Different voices are needed ASAP. The old heads are not going to do it

@LagerLout short memories here. I can remember a couple of stinkers against Argentina in NZ that would trump this one. This Argentina side is a better one than the ones that beat NZ in NZ.
NZ weren’t good enough against what is, on their day, a very good Argentina team.

Time for DMac to startYes and no. Barrett is a better defender. Matera aimed right for DMac off the back of the scrum that Argentina got their try off.
Neither is perfect by any stretch, but the backline is craving some control and direction.

He was the premier lock, but I never thought the best choice as captain for captaincy reasons.
It's also easy with hindsight of course, but if you're not a world class lineout option as an AB lock, your continued status as first choice is not guaranteed - and you need that if you're going to be captain. -

All the countless times he’s been part of a a complete cluster fuck. What I’m saying is that the current leadership group we’ve had since 2019 is shit. We need new voices in it.
