First Test win in Australia for Joe Root and Ben Stokes after lots of attempts.

    Perhaps their last one too.

@Smudge Thank you for your feedback.

Clearly there are other people who enjoy them. So I'll keep posting here.

There are a multitude of live scoring sites and/or apps. We don't need you breathlessly updating every minute.

Bit of a coming-of-age performance by Josh Tongue 7-89 in this Test. Bowled it in the right spot.

Australia's bowling performance was not as strong as the first three Tests. The injuries caught up with them in this dead rubber.

"Bazball", confident aggressive batting, makes sense in a 4th innings chase. A bit less so in other circumstances.

Probably the most entertaining day at the cricket i have ever had. 300 runs, 16 wickets, a result. 93,000 in the crowd, barmy army loud all day.
Could barely get a beer for fear of something happening.

    Traditional? No. Fun? Fuck yes.

    Need new plans for tomorrow.

No idea why this 5 test ashes series is scheduled over a month. They could have fit it inside 2 weeks

Current long-range forecast suggests the Fifth Test in Sydney is going to be severely affected by rain.

Deserved MoM, did enough for the batters to be able to finish the job.

Besides chasing to win, "Bazball" also strikes me as a solid tactic when the chances of batters sticking round are low, so may as well get runs before the inevitable dismissal. Outside of that, it's probably horses for courses really. Root usually doesn't need to, maybe Brook does.

The comms were pretty correct earlier
England should have won the 1st test before their brain fart threw jt away. The series could easily be 2-2 going into Sydney

    @Virgil

Yeah the poms have f'd up this series good and proper.
Poms have the raw material to get it done, but the Aussies have played it much smarter.

Bazball does have a place. Just gotta pick the right time.
Aussies finished the 1st test off with bazball.

Financial disaster; ACB guna make sure that the wickets are ultra flat for at least the next generation!
Didn't mind the shoot out myself; very entertaining.

Test cricket got way better when ODI tactics and strategies came into it; dunno about the T20 version of test cricket tho.

I’ve reached the point in life where I look at this series and all I see is lost revenue

Being reported as a $10 mill financial loss to Cricket Australia.

One very costly mower height setting.
