Ashes 2025/6

Probably the most entertaining day at the cricket i have ever had. 300 runs, 16 wickets, a result. 93,000 in the crowd, barmy army loud all day.
Could barely get a beer for fear of something happening.Traditional? No. Fun? Fuck yes.
Need new plans for tomorrow.

Bit of a coming-of-age performance by Josh Tongue 7-89 in this Test. Bowled it in the right spot.
Australia's bowling performance was not as strong as the first three Tests. The injuries caught up with them in this dead rubber.
"Bazball", confident aggressive batting, makes sense in a 4th innings chase. A bit less so in other circumstances.
Deserved MoM, did enough for the batters to be able to finish the job.
Besides chasing to win, "Bazball" also strikes me as a solid tactic when the chances of batters sticking round are low, so may as well get runs before the inevitable dismissal. Outside of that, it's probably horses for courses really. Root usually doesn't need to, maybe Brook does.

Yeah the poms have f'd up this series good and proper.
Poms have the raw material to get it done, but the Aussies have played it much smarter.Bazball does have a place. Just gotta pick the right time.
Aussies finished the 1st test off with bazball.Financial disaster; ACB guna make sure that the wickets are ultra flat for at least the next generation!
Didn't mind the shoot out myself; very entertaining.Test cricket got way better when ODI tactics and strategies came into it; dunno about the T20 version of test cricket tho.

You can kind of see what the groundsman was going for when you look at how we've been preparing our pitches lately (the basin and hagley especially), where the pitch is almost as green as the outfield at the toss and often by tea a lot of the life is gone. I can see why they went for that option. Will be very interesting to see what way they go next year.
