Anyone mentioned the weather this time of year in SEQ can be, err, changeable? Especially in the late afternoon/evening.

Storms seem to be a daily occurrence at the moment, and forecast to continue.

Pink Ball going to go doubly nuts in Brisbane humidity.

England's Mark Wood is injured and won't play in the Second Test.

@mariner4life Truth. If you’ve suddenly had to change your Monday, and then consequently your whole week you ain’t doing it right.

I'm gonna have a disagree here. If the original plan was for the team to play 5 days of cricket, but they only get 2 days - then giving them more days is more in line with the original plan - even if it does mean changing Monday.
Having plans set in stone regardless of changing circumstances can be just as stupid as knee-jerk changes.

@reprobate Yeah, I think I oversimplified it. This is a good explanation of the process: https://inpc.substack.com/p/in-powered-coach-chris-scott

I saw someone quote a headline as "England To Use Tongue After Wood Flops"

    The headlines write themselves...

England are to have extra training sessions:

    More throwdowns?

Looks like Baz has taken his BCs training history straight to the England setup.

@NTA Averaged 24 in Australia. Who needs preparation when you're that compelling?

It doesn't sound like Joseph Root is looking forward to the pink ball Test in Brisbane and has almost accepted defeat already.

England need to abandon Bazball and play Fightball instead.

Hard to unlearn all in the space of a week. Especially when you are playing golf for most of it....

A game against lesser opposition would have been the perfect thing to try and work on worn ons (or as Scott Hansen says adjust to adjusting 🤷), oh wait....

England Lions in the box seat against the PM's XI after a generous declaration.

The England Lions win easily against the Australia Prime Minister's XI. The PM's XI weren't up to much. Not surprising that the full England team passed on such low-grade opposition.

Mark Wood broken after 11 overs. And Archer was in free fall on the speed gun by the end of his 17 overs in the Test.

Maybe some of the Lions quicks have a bit more longevity to them.

@Donsteppa The thing is none of them are really quicks. Medium-Fast at best.

You hope that's a convenient excuse and the real reason is his shitful form.

Presumably choosing to bat because they never last longer than 50 overs so they can bowl at Australia under the lights?
