Three years ago, as Sacred Heart ultimately broke a 58-year-old curse to finally reclaim the 1A title, they kick-started their season with a 58-22 win over King’s College. And that 36-point margin win was spookily replicated on Saturday in a 51-15 home victory as Sacred reclaimed the Fitzpatrick-Kirkpatrick Cup, heartily contested between the schools since 2009.
Sacred captain and first five-eighths Keanu Simpson led the way as he chipped in with 26 of his team’s points, including two tries, to better the efforts of his older brother Rico, who registered 18 points as first-five against King’s in 2023.
