Big Bash League 25/26

shit game last night really, Perth smoked it and the Renegades were never in the chase.
God T20 can be boring though. Something about a quicks bowling 6 off-speed deliveries in a row while the batsman tries to clear cow corner over after over is so fucking repetitive. It can be a good product, but sometimes it can be so formulaic in its approach.

yup and very early into a game its over as a contest. Theres not enough time to rebuild.
which is why ODI's are better overall. A team can be all but dead and buried but still find a way back to win or at least get close enough to make a game of it. -

The interesting thing about Allen is he is using the open stance baseball style hitting that the Big Bash sides practice.
Using a bowling machine pitching the ball at you load up early with a firm base standing still generally then clear your hips on contact and transfer weight through and snap you hands through fast.
This makes you hit a lot further. He's been hitting like that for a while now to be fair. Watched him plenty of times at the Basin for the Firebirds and his ball striking is some of the best I've seen.
The best tactic against Allen is not to bowl a speedster in the first over and try and put him off. Once he gets going he's devastating.

Sold out apparently for the Scorchers v Stars game.

@Chris you're the cricket coach
You're away, defending fuck all, bowling to the two most destructive guys in the comp.
Why are you not trying to take wickets and really attacking?
Why is siddle bowling off-pace in the first over?
Why is 1 slip the only regular catching option?
Has T20 cricket become just waiting for an error?
And then an error happens...
-
Lol fuck two errors in an over.
Thats dumb batting though
-
It's run a ball in a big ground you absolute idiots

They were hoping the pitch was going to do the work for them , the ball was sticking and holding up sometimes that helped bring the mistake.
Defending a low score they should have attacked more, wickets were the only way they were going to win,
The ball wasn’t really moving much, they obviously though wasting a catching or run saving option at 2nd of more slips.
Tactics as you know depends on conditions and the mind set of the Captain and coaches.
For me I would attacked more they were never going to defend 130 odd trying to just restrict.
That is my thoughts on it poor performance with bat and ball. -
Good game to go to and a win for the good guys who secure 1st spot. I thought the Stars botched their innings by sending in Cartwright ahead of Maxwell. The pitch in Perth isn't easy to bat on so you need extra time to get yourself set on it, and they should have had Maxwell in with Stoinis to set up for the power surge.
The only Stars bowler to get anything out of the wicket too was Rauf with his extra pace.
