Tim Robinson is unlucky as they've selected a lot of all-rounders.

So the top playing XI will look something like:

Allen, Seifert, Ravindra, Mitchell, Chapman, Phillips, Bracewell, Santner, Henry, Ferguson, Duffy?

With probably Neesham coming in for Bracewell if they want another seam option - and maybe Milne for Duffy?

Hard to see Conway and Sodhi getting much of a run barring injuries - and if we have a top order batsman injured, I'd be somewhat inclined to call up Robinson and slot him straight in.

Super harsh on T Robinson IMO, he’s deserved an opportunity after posting solid numbers over the last year for NZ.

To be honest I'm completely unsure how Milne keeps getting selected. I don't ever remember him doing anything great for the BC's, his record is pretty average and he gets injured all the time.

His whole career he has basically been picked based on potential to bowl fast. He is now 33 has not fulfilled any of that potential whatsoever.

Terrible selection, new coach seems to be just carrying of from what Stead was doing.

Bit of a shame we couldn't have waited until after the end of the Indian tour to make these calls, but I assume there are ICC deadlines for this stuff.

For some reason, Neesham is the guy I feel the worst for after the god awful super over nonsense. I'd love to see him find a streak of form and blast us to an improbable title.

@LABCAT Yeah - I was a bit surprised to see Milne there, but seems he's still plying his trade around the T20 leagues with success.

                https://www.thepost.co.nz/sport/360767431/black-caps-zimbabwe-tri-series-adam-milne-winds-back-clock-15th-year-international-cricket

An article I read about the team naming seemed to be suggesting Zac Foulkes as the next seam cab off the rank and, if that was the case, I can see why they'd go with Milne. A bit surprising he's there ahead of Jamieson - but, I guess both have IPL contracts, which is indicative they're rated to bowl in Indian conditions.

Jamieson has been named as the travelling reserve, so maybe it was meaning Foulkes as next up after that?

Looks like Bangladesh are going to be withdrawing from the World Cup as their government doesn't think it is safe to travel to India and the ICC won't allow them to move their games to Sri Lanka:

Pretty poor from the ICC IMO.

Especially poor when India was allowed to play their games at home when Pakistan hosted....

Yes, further evidence of who controls world cricket. Gutless from the ICC.

Pakistan are in Group A along with India, Namibia, Netherlands and USA. So bar some form of upset they probably still make it to the super 8s so the only other chance they will have to play India will be if they both make the final.

                                    Neesham two overs 0/26
                                    Jamieson three overs 0/41
                                    Duffy three overs 1/37

I'm not sure that Neesham is an all rounder at the top level these days.

Sodhi had a better game than previous.

It shows that the margins will be fine, even against the so-called minnows.

Santner going for 30 off three reads a bit unusual too.

Wonder overall if it was us bowling the usual half trackers, or just very good batting.

Upside - I only watched the highlights, but looks like we've spent some time on our fielding.
                                          Some great catches.
