Early days. A lot of new guys and combinations out there. It ain’t pretty but no need for doom and gloom just yet.
The highlanders have a great squad. The only concern in my opinion is the terrible attack and defence systems are still there

Can never put all your stocks into preseason, last year the Landers were undefeated in preseason.
-
Nic Shearer looking sharper than Lennox
-
@SouthernMann I can’t believe they are considering Hammington over him.

Wonder if Pasetoa starts the season at 10 over Millar?
I really like the style that he is playing. Suits the guys he will have around him. Just needs to show he can kick well enough.

@jimmyb Any highlights from the back three?
Tangitau quality. Tito-Harris has a heck of a left foot step. Solomon looked pretty good on attack ans worked hard in cover.
Few quick thoughts:
-
Shearer and Pasitoa were really good in the second half
-
Haig was better at lock
-
Lasaqa was a ball of energy when on
-
the young back three kids were great.
I'm very keen to see more of Pasitoa at 10

- Soanne Vikenna and Adam Lennox were fucking awful, and God help us if they see a 23 this season.
- Robinson, Cribb, Lennox, Broughton, Millar, Kauai, and Bell were bang average.
- Howden, Haig, Whaanga, Solomon, Lowe, Pasteoa, Tangitau, and Tito Harris stood out to me.
- Shearer and Wingham probably deserve elevation from WTG to the main squad.
- The Highlanders forwards still have no idea what ball security is.
- Our attack and defence both have a lot of work ahead.
- We grew into the game, but it was a bloody poor showing overall.
