As any good vexillologist would know, the NZ ensign became law by act of Parliament in 1902. The Australian in 1903. To avoid confusion, make them pavlova stealing flag copyists in the west island change their Jonny come lately national dish cloth.

I don't watch a lot of women 7s and I know based on history (and that game) that they are a better side but I don't think the gap is so big that we couldn't have won that game. A few decisions going the other way and that game could been in the balance until the very end.

The try that was given and shouldn't, along with Woodman getting stranded on the sideline for an extended period were critical in the end. Not to say we would have won but it was a major turning point

Good question. Hireme wasn't picked in the team for most of the season so she either made herself unavailable or wasn't selected. She has size and speed. Hohepa is another who could have provided some x-factor.

I thought Goss was fantastic in the final and she does a power of work at the breakdown, but a failure to secure their own ball from other players was a real weakness in the SF and final.

Yeah thanks - pretty sure I covered that in addressing both those sports and their differences.

And that's exactly why letting someone back out to play doesn't work in rugby without the right restrictions - it's all well and good to say:

It's a simple amendment for 7s to make that the player can come back on in an onside position as long as the timekeeper responsible for the yellow card is happy the penalty has been served.

But the onside position can change rapidly. The only guarantee of following this in a fast Games like Sevens is to enter the field where there is NO offside position: in-goal.

Otherwise someone will enter the field in a position that is onside one second and not the next, and officials will be tripping over each other trying to figure out what's right.
