I'd love to know how they classify these athletes. In some swimming events having two functional legs would be an advantage, and the same for having two arms in other events.

@stargazer It's more about how the classification can change when the athlete's disability hasn't. I know that matching the athlete's ability to swim won't be an exact science.

Pascoe used to be an SB9 in the breaststroke but is now an SB8.

                  Sophie Pascoe wins SILVER. :2nd_place_medal:

The swimmer from Ireland, who beat her earlier in heat 2, won gold.
                  The difference 0.39s.

We are getting pumped by England. Our defence isn't great....

Barton Coutts is our best players. Already knocked two Poms onto the floor, which didn't look that comfortable

No, she didn't even swim the 100 m breaststroke in Rio.

Has the privilege of seeing her win Commonwealth Gold in 2018 in the Gold Coast. Was sitting in front of relatives of Chad le Clos who also had a great night. Such a good event.

I thought he was really good on the whitewater stuff. Had done his homework and managed to explain the sport easily to us part time watchers. One of my biggest gripes about the Olympics was the standard of the broadcast with fuck all graphics and 'experts' that waffled endlessly but told you nothing. I thought he was noticeably better than most.
Might of helped that I didn't know who it was until someone said so here.

@canefan Just to reiterate what I was saying.

"I'm extremely ecstatic," says Pascoe. "Originally, I wasn't coming into this meeting doing 100 breaststroke, but was a last-minute entry.

"The reason behind it was to get myself into race mode and blow the cobwebs out before my four favoured events, coming up in three days.

"I came in ranked third, breaststroke is not my favoured event, but it's Ellen's favoured. All power to her, she got me in the last 10 metres and that's when it really hurt - I gave it absolutely everything.

"It was an unexpected race and an unexpected result. I will stand on the podium with pride that I gave it absolutely everything."

"I'm extremely ecstatic," says Pascoe. "Originally, I wasn't coming into this meeting doing 100 breaststroke, but was a last-minute entry.

Use an Olympic race as a warm up. Hardcore
