Concept sounded great, and lots going on. But it looks like they managed a for-TV spectacle that just doesn't quite work. Well, at least not in the scheme of past Olympic opening ceremonies.

I have never watched an opening ceremony in my life, the so called 'highlights' I catch on the news etc proves they are a pile of absolute shit. Very much GOM about this, but have been since teen years, what an utter waste of time and money

All they need is someone to stand there and say the games have begun!. I turned on tv this morning and saw it was on and just watched a bit of golf.
I actually say the same with Rugby WC etc, just say the games have started!
