@Higgins said in Mitre 10 Cup - news, injuries etc: @Stargazer Obviously the Treasurer still had his gate takings budgeted revenue hat on then as well. No comparison when comparing Wellington against the rather obscure combined Golden Bay-Motueka/Nelson/Marlborough outfit. I have it on good authority that for a prank, Steve Tew put his hand over the Wellington option on the board when the Hawkes Bay selection committee came into the room. They had to adjourn twice to the underwear department at Hallensteins until Steve removed his hand!

@Stargazer You'd think the Barrett's were contracted even though they won't play....

@DrivingMaul Yes, indeed. At least Beauden and Jordie (Scott's contract expires next year). I found this the most interesting bit from the media release: Halfback Te Toiroa Tahuriorangi will re-join his family in the Bay of Plenty next season after notching up 41 matches for Taranaki. Both players were selected for the All Blacks while playing for the amber and blacks and played 26 and 3 tests respectively.("both" refers to Waisake Naholo and TTT)

@Stargazer said in Mitre 10 Cup - news, injuries etc: Taranaki List of contracted players for 2020: Taranaki look to be investing in their youth. A sensible option.

@Bovidae said in Mitre 10 Cup - news, injuries etc: More importantly, we're all waiting for the full draw to find out which provinces join Ta$man in not having a RS challenge in 2020. I have been recently vaccinated against Shield Famine and have lifetime immunity - though occasional booster shots are recommended!

@taniwharugby said in Mitre 10 Cup - news, injuries etc: @Chris-B you mean at least 1 time a year? No - I genuinely mean lifetime immunity. With an absolutely miraculous spread of outcomes it will be 13 years before every other team wins the NPC. But, what will happen in reality is that Canterbury and Auckland will resume their mortal lock on the title and at best only a couple of teams will get a look in - and on recent form Ta$man is most likely! A Shield drought can be broken in a day - an NPC drought, well look at the Warriors!

@Higgins said in Mitre 10 Cup - news, injuries etc: @Crucial So open slather to a select number of former students who started their first XV career at other schools then! Yeah, half of them probably came from CM catchment originally anyway.
