@mikedogz said in Mitre 10 Cup - news, injuries etc:

Auckland schools offered Kaino, Afoa and Rokocoko scholarships that year.

Auckland schools or just St Kents? Bit surprised they'd turn down Grammar/MAGS/Kings to go St Kents, who weren't really a powerhouse at the time IIRC..

@mimic St Kents had made Auckland 1A semis and finals in the late 90s prior to those guys arriving - lost to Kelston in two finals iirc

@Tim Thanks - Both Lendrum and Spiers played for Counties for what seemed like an eternity but even they would have called it quits way before then.

Hell that photo must have been taken a long time ago. Did he play alongside Bob Lendrum and John Spiers?!

@KiwiMurph Lost to the mighty St Peters College in 2000 ;). Think they won it the next year and then got relegated in about 2003.

C'mon South Canterbury. Time for the boys in Green & Black to step up to the world-beating standards set by Tom Walsh, Hayden Paddon and Natalie Rooney.

@Stargazer Are you thinking of making yourself available for selection? I am seriously considering it, if only to ensure we are competitive at the aftermatch function.

If we were going to get him, I would prefer it for a game we had a realistic chance of getting within 50 points of the opposition, not Canterbury...
