So listening to that, John’s saying Jake Paul won’t be saved by the bell end; in fact quite the opposite.

This thread has been top drawer ferning, especially over the last couple of days. As a fairly infrequent poster, I’m in awe of some of the well reasoned arguments. Chapeau. (Genuinely).

Yep. He crossed the line.

Wow. Sky Sports in Uk reporting that Parker failed a drugs test on day of Wardley fight. Tested positive for traces of cocaine …

Again, it depends on what part of London you are in. I’m in Blackheath and my go to rugby pub of late is The Old Tigers Head. Aussie guy has taken over the lease and the place is humming on match days (esp if England is playing), with a bunch of grumpy middle aged guys.

I quite like that side. Not sure Barrett will be available so would go for the same lock setup as for Scotland.

The white jersey half way house thing irritates me. I’d like to see an alternate strip that is a complete inverse to the black strip, with white jersey, shorts and socks.
Granted this would look a bit like England, but it’s worn so infrequently. The current alternate strip looks like Fiji anyway …

Ardie to midfield at some point, to solve the loosie imbalance? It’s good enough for England who are playing Ben Earl In the midfield for parts of games. They’re also toying with playing Henry Pollock on the wing, I read.

And Niamh Fisher-Black second in the elite women’s race; an outstanding effort!

Nice GC win over the weekend by Corbin Strong in the 4 day Arctic Race of Norway. He held off a rampaging Tom Pidcock as well.

well that was a great way to spend a Sunday evening, Rory was equal parts master and muppet but got it done in the end with a flawless first play off hole. The reaction as the putt dropped and then the walk to the club house will live long in my memory, the sheer disbelief and joy on his face after he saw his family was incredible to see.
The wife was away so I did a 13 hour stint in front of the tv, firstly watching the biggest one day race in cycling (Paris Roubaix), with a box of Leffe, then the Masters. Great times!

Fuck. Unlucky Landers.
Nothing unlucky. Just the usual dumb decisions that have plagued us over the last 4-5 years
Dude. We played well. Was a hard fiest round game. That is a quality Tahs side and we fought well.
I get that and if it was fresh set of players and they were genuinely trying to implement a new game plan, I’d cop it. But it’s the same mistakes, by the same players, at the same moments. Its been an Otago issues, it’s been a Highlanders issue. I just don’t see that change in mindset or composure so the same mistakes will keep on happening
Nah. That's bullshit. This is a Highlanders side and, apart from blue and gold has very little to do with Otago.
When Otago played we lacked ideas and game plan. We lost to teams we had lesser players than us.
This was a team that everyone said during the week should have been well beaten. Has one current international. The opposition, has heaps. We should have won. We didn't. We went to their house and nearly snuck away with the china.
We had a game plan. It was scrapy, but we stuck to it and it nearly came off. Yeah we made mistakes. It happens. But, there is a lot to build one. I'm looking forward to knocking over the Blues next week.
Well the proof will be in the pudding when they play the Kiwi sides. I don’t see this ending well
Wrong thread but (sigh), ‘the proof of the pudding is in the eating’

You’ll no doubt train smarter this time, remembering all those little mistakes you made first time around both with training and the race. That previous experience will be invaluable. Good luck!

Awesome fight to end the year. 116-112 on all 3 cards? I personally thought it was slightly closer.
Closer yes, but Fury didn’t win despite what Frank Warren says.
Agreed

Depends what you want it for. You could just get a bike and hook it up to a turbo trainer (wind trainer in NZ?). Failing that, I use a Wattbike almost daily for training during the week, mainly because I can configure it to my road bike geometry. Wattbike Atom is a cheaper equally good version and takes up less space. Not cheap though.

Fuck Smith is good. Imagine him in a black jersey.
-
Shame because in his last prefight interview on BBC Sport, he still had that calm, quiet, fucking menacing demeanour which meant I genuinely feared for Paul.

@KiwiInLondon Man I’m sooo hoping we see a 2004 France-esq performance; I honestly think we’re building into it. Would be great to see a bunch of the newer guys step up and own it on the ultimate stage.
