No, Ardie plays the AB gameplan & if he does it well thats awesome (see NMS last year, similar deal), if he doesn't Matt Todd very much can play the AB gameplan. And will.
Its no different 2012 to me, where Kaino had shown the AB gameplan for a 6, Thompson, Vito & Messam (all superb athletes) then had a shot at it. Thompson played like Thompson. Vito played like Vito & Messam after briefly playing like Messam, switched to playing the AB gameplan & locked himself into the jersey till Kaino came back. Same when Luatua got a chance & played like Read, in the 6 shirt. And got dropped.
A good test match for Ardie will be one where half the fern get miffed because he is not making huge runs & popping up all over in space, because that probably means he is doing what Cane has been doing instead. If he gets a chance to gallop 60m he will & should, but above all he needs to play test match rugby as an AB 7 does.
@gollum Yeah, I'm hoping he gets a bit more stuck in - in his brief appearances off the bench I just get the feeling watching him that he's standing off too much play and lining himself up on defence to not be first man ("Pococking"). Forget going for the steal and just get stuck in, the opportunity for a steal will arise.
Edit: Just remembered a quite funny series of play against the Argies after he came on, where they'd pick and go one side, he'd swap to that side and they'd pick and go the other....happened about half a dozen times I think.

Everyone predicted that the Tongan Thor would be a star. Now, obviously, chosing to play for the Reds doesn't help his cause and he's still young, but he hasn't been that impressive yet, has he?

Havent seen him in the NRC but from the reports I got from the club semi and final and the highlights I saw he is like that 9 year old when playing prems was killing it. Think tongan thor will be good but if he makes international level a good d will shut him down for his running game not against school boys and amaetuers anymore . Will show up if he can scrum and hit rucks etc.

I think what is good about the draw is the gaps between home and away games to refresh means we dont need to rotate players. You earn your spot and no one wants to give it up or get it taken away. I think if Ardie kills it these next 3 games he could cement his starting position (obviously a big if) .

Real rugby supporters will once again welcome the physical and tactical battle with the old foe (and friends), the ABs will be hugely psyched and me behind them supporting all their efforts and appreciating the Boks, regardless of their success.
See that's what the ABs represent - striving for excellence, winning and being humble and respectful in the process
You won't catch them bemoaning the relative ability of the opposition or counting wins before they're earned.

Mate of mine was at the Casino last night and a few of the Springboks (Janties and others) were in there drinking pretty hard. Bartender told him they'd been there the last 3 nights doing it.
Doesn't sound like they rate their own chances very highly.
