It's one of the things that sucks about the Euro - it's just architecture which is fine and all but pretty bland.

I guess with the Euro - they're pretty hamstrung. Trying to get any sort of agreement for what represents their "identity" - across dozens of pretty different countries... amazed they even settled on that.
But just looked it up - realised they're not actual buildings/etc - but entirely stylized examples of architectural styles. (Original artist used actual bridges - but obviously that was going to fail)
Quite clever, actually - use the metaphor of "bridges" connecting the Union, and an abstracted set of images, so that nobody can whinge "why's the Pont de Nuilly there, but not Tower Bridge - fucking outrageous, innit?".

Due to the great number of historic bridges, arches, and gateways throughout the European continent, all the structures represented on the notes are entirely stylized illustrations of the relevant architectural styles, designed to evoke the landmarks within the European Union,[17] representing various European ages and styles.

Dr King, founder of Plunkett, probably saved and enriched the lives of hundreds of thousands of kiwis. Racist sexist fluffybunny, but the foundation has done huge amounts of good
