There was a TV show back in the early 2000's that listed their top 100 NZ History makers
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Zealand's_Top_100_History_Makers
Dr King, founder of Plunkett, probably saved and enriched the lives of hundreds of thousands of kiwis. Racist sexist fluffybunny, but the foundation has done huge amounts of good

Na, you go down that road then the 25 will all be affiliated with Rugby somehow.
Meads and Lomu for me, that’s absolutely it

Setting aside my bias based on name alone, I genuinely think it's crazy to overlook Nepia who was the first huge NZ and worldwide rugby superstar.

Fair enough, he might have a case too but even just three out of 25 is seriously overdoing it.
With cricket KW is the only one who’d challenge Paddles and even then he wasn’t the first to do anything like Sir RJ was.

Probably agree with you on cricket, although that doesn't mean much coming from me.

Haha, let's do it, Meads can get on the list for carrying a sheep under each arm.

He was a world wide super star in rugby, lomu was the first star that was famous beyond rugby, I reckon

Yeah, although, I think Nepia was probably famous beyond rugby for his era, especially in the NH countries, if the history books are anything to go by, but Lomu would have been known throughout a much larger "world".
But on a list of greatest Kiwis, being the first proper superstar AB should be enough to get you on the list I reckon.
