Been tracking this for a bit as some of the early modelling has it smacking straight into us.
Then it veered away.
Then it's coming back ...
Likely to be sufficiently far south of us not to bother us, but heading straight for Junior on the Sunny Coast. In fact she's probably just north of where it's tracking. Which isn't ideal.
Talk of the Mary River flooding. But they've just finished the bypass of Gympie so the usual spots that cut us off are no longer a factor.
Cat 2 is going to be strong enough in SEQ as I suspect design codes are not as high.
Ironically I pushed my flight back up to Cairns (have to fly through Brissy from Hervey Bay) till tomorrow expecting it to have gone through here Monday, with a couple of days for clean up... but I should be through and gone before it starts to affect.

seems it's slowed, not making landfall until tomorrow night. does not appear to be strengthening.
-
@mariner4life looks like it will still be slow moving once it hits too.

Worst possible result - just means it's dumping rain for longer.
-
Although these delays have me saying to family and friends up there it's starting to look like

this is why i thought it was hilarious that Brisbane basically shut down on Wednesday. panic merchants much?
-
and the best bit is all the nuffies did their stock up on Monday, so they are likely out of food already

I've bought a gas bottle and beer
So yes
And yet again, I question Mrs TA's decision to go to Cairns in high summer...
Cairns, where the ladies are very very hot.
