Will the MABs get a try in the last minute? Very entertaining game methinks.

Trask in, 53-20 with that try. I like his footwork. Japan fell apart in the second half. Now the kick. Missing.

It was all Japan XV in the first 20 minutes or so - impressive how Maori just kicked into gear after that

This is a pretty bad look for Japan. Am I right in thinking they haven't taken it very seriously? Or is it supposed to be their second team?

            Second team

Their top team plays Wales next week

Impressive from the Māori ABs given they had such limited prep time.

Howden and Reihana showing again that they are knocking on the door of higher honours.

Was it MAB pressure alone or did that bench really pick up the pace and the pressure? A bit of both I thought.
I missed the first 15-20 but I thought Brown, Sullivan, Reihana, Eklund, sometimes Nock, and sometimes Howden were very good. Forbes and Lowe too. Grace was industrious in second half. Scrum very solid. Lineout great.

Reihana's punting technique ball-to-hand looks a bit unco.

Somehow the J-1st 5 always had 15 seconds left on the shot clock while Reihana seemed to fluff about and be left with 3 seconds.

Reihana just needs to improve those kicking stats off the tee other than that has all the tools to push further

Love a good running game. And I liked how Sullivan's big boot was used at the back.

Thought it just looked like MAB were a last minute team that took a while to click. Impressive to click after 20 minutes rather than a couple of games.

So Howden has been playing previously as a lock but is usually a loosie? Is his best position at 6?

An impressive 2nd half. IWL and Brown's workrate and impact were great.

I don't think there will be too many changes to the starting XV for the Scotland game.

He proved that on a few distance punts in this game and in SR.

If Rona is fit they could move Bailyn to the right wing. Nikora Broughton is the other loose forward in the squad.

Assuming Daniel Rona is available, one of Wrampling or Sullivan could shift out to the wing. Could alternatively bring Taele into the midfield to do the same.
