So the MABs are not not high performance. Can we have a real schedule for the AB XV then?

Could probably be a better set-up but I don't mind it hugely. It's just 'unfortunate' that so many of the top Maori players are in the All Blacks at the moment and that the third tier is a bit weak. ABXV would be better selected after SR too, but I guess more money to be made doing it this way around? Maybe giving NZR too much credit?

Very little territory, and when the MAB did they coughed up the ball. Forbes had a shocker. The conditions must have been difficult as Sullivan was subbed due to heatstroke.

Weird thread. Mainly positivity about Japan and they got dicked 36-10! Maori simply had much better ball skills

@ARHS Filipo must have wanted a forward and back as his co-captains. But Poihipi didn't even start.

I guess with a Lions match the selectors would tend to go with what they know. It wasn’t until that 2017 NPC that Hemopo really came into his own and got on the radar for higher honours.

McMillan seems to have come up through the coaching ranks so that's possibly a good thing. A few Naki players are going to start worrying about there places in the team now though.

Now watched the second half. I don't buy the 'Maori strangled into submission' story. The fact is that the score went from 15-10 (and Maori declined gimme 3 just before halftime) to 29-10 on back of: Dmac kick off not 10, Lowe dropped ball on 22, Dmac suicide chip in own 22, Dmac miss on Te'o 10 out and DMac scragged standing 10 yards behind gain line from ruck. To their credit the Lions were ruthless when they got into the red zone. That said, better game management and they wouldn't have been there. The time to take on the rush is not 15 yards behind the gain line in one's 22. That is when you kick the pill 50 metres downfield. To paraphase Cypher: 'A little piece of advice. You see an agent, you do what we do. Run. You run your ass off.' Except kick! In fact from 29-10 the Maori stemmed the tide very effectively.
