Seems rather counter constructive to pack a feed in right before the game!
I think they try to weigh as early as they can.

The North Island teams have kicked off the competition.
The Coastal and Fraser-Tech game was played in Te Kuiti and was a good watch. But even if Central are doing something similar and playing in Taupo, there is serious traveling to be done by a couple of clubs.
